Biden just followed through with what was negotiated with the Taliban by the former Trump administration. If the US doesn't follow through we lose credibility in all future negotiations with everyone.

What you're complaining about is the fact that Trump et all made an agreement to pull out the troops within a certain (completely unreasonable) timeline. They had no idea WTF they were doing and obviously didn't do due diligence or any sort of logistics planning for such a withdrawal before making the agreement.

If you think that sounds like bullshit let me ask you this: Does Trump ever do due diligence on anything? During his first administration nearly all his executive orders got thrown out because they were deemed arbitrary and capricious and during his second administration it looks like we're getting the same exact situation.

They don't know what they're doing. They don't know how to govern. If they didn't have several powerful right wing media empires backing up every stupid decision they make Trump would never have been re-elected and he'd have long since been impeached in this administration.

At my daughter's (high) school the kids have to manage social media accounts as part of the curriculum. They're an arts school that puts on plays, musical performances, etc.

It is fully expected that the kids post tasteful videos promoting their work (e.g. a pianist kid would have to post a video of them playing and they'll be taught how to make sure the lighting/audio is right). They also have the kids create all the school's social media videos (only certain teachers have the power to actually post them though).

They are taught what's bad and good about social media and they experience it. All the teachers know everyone's (non-secret, haha) accounts and they get graded on them! There's all sorts of resources for the kids and they're all so damned professional it's easy to forget they're just kids.

Things like bullying, how to manage comments/inappropriate posts, and how to deal with trolls/unhelpful negative feedback is covered and it's fucking fantastic.

Every school should have social media management and online etiquette classes.

What I wish they spent more time on is how to protect your privacy... But I understand the conflict there: If they teach the kids how to keep things secret, well, parents might not appreciate that 🤷

If it runs Windows it's still garbage.

You say that because you don't realize the benefits:

• Better support for Linux with any new PC hardware on day 1. This includes things like USB devices, monitors, KVMs, UPS, everything.
• Better support for all commercial software in general. More software will become available and it'll be higher quality.
• Vendors will be forced to test all their stuff on Linux which means it'll all become more reliable and less glitchy.
• There will be more diversity in software and distros which means widespread attacks (aka hacking, worms, viruses, etc) will have less success and smaller impacts.
• The more Linux users there are the more Linux developers will result. It's also much easier to start learning how to code on a Linux desktop than it is in Windows.
• Better security for the entire world. Linux has a vastly superior security architecture than Windows and a vastly superior track record. The more Linux users there are, the harder it will be for malicious entities to break into their PCs which translates into a more secure world.
• It's much easier (for experienced users) to troubleshoot and fix problems in Linux than in Windows. This will lead to support teams everywhere getting frustrated whenever they have to deal with Windows users (this is already the case for many software vendors, haha). Therefore, it makes support people happy and easy going. Who doesn't want to reach a happy, helpful person for technical support instead of the usual defiant/adversarial support tech? 😁
• The worst sorts of hardware vendors won't be able to get away with their usual bullshit. For example, if there were enough Linux users HP wouldn't be offering extremely invasive 2GB printer "drivers" because their Windows customers would know enough Linux users that they'd be rightfully pissed and not depressively submissive like they are now.
• When you do have a problem it will be easier to find a solution because the likelihood that someone else already had it and posted a solution will be higher (though admittedly this factor doesn't seem to do much for Windows currently because of how obtuse and obfuscated everything is in that OS).

Never trust any organization with "heritage" in its name.

I've been giving out this advice for decades now and it still holds true. The Heritage Foundation is but one of many organizations that amount bullshit for hire or exist for the sole purpose of promoting and/or excusing racism, genocide, and autocracies and theocracies.

"Heritage" and "tradition" are some of humanity's worst excuses for doing anything and have been used to extend human suffering since forever.

Windows, currently, cannot handle everything Linux can. Linux also has a massive software support advantage, running on vastly more hardware and architectures than Windows does.

Linux has already been given to the masses. People use it every day in super user friendly ways; they just don't realize they're using Linux.

The only reason people use Windows is because they don't choose it. Imagine if every PC sold had a Linux option and a Windows option that cost an extra $100. What do you think people would buy?

The same hardware running Linux will easily outperform Windows (especially at the most common end user tasks like web browsing) by a long shot. In a few days NTFS turns 30 years old FFS (LOL).

Any given hardware accessory will "just work" when plugged in to a Linux PC but Windows will require a special driver that you have to go out and find on your own at the vendor's website that will be bloated AF. It'll also reinstall it if you change the USB port LOL.
