I understand, but the club probably felt that it was a slap on the wrist at worst. The surrounding the ref charge is not the one that we should make a stand on, in my opinion - too hard to prove bias. If the MLS red had stood, then I would have advocated for invading Manchester

I've been turning this over in my head since City: the FA and PGMOL repeatedly say that Oliver is the best English refereedom has to offer. Perhaps that is because he knows literally all the rules and all the cases associated with them. He's like a historian who reads the Laws for fun. "Oi Simon, who wants to see me give someone two yellow cards for the same passage of play? Doesn't explicitly say I can't!"
You can read the notes from the hearing here, but the club have already admitted to it and paid 65K pounds. The refs are looking for any reason to get back on Mikel's back.
Speaking purely on their role as adjudicators of the game, the PGMOL have decided to model themselves after the thinnest of blue lines. They're trying to bully us. How many cards has Mikel gotten for just gesticulating on the sideline? How is it that I'd literally never heard of a manager actually getting thrown out for stepping out of their technical area (as long as they weren't on the pitch) until we started getting better? Fuck's sake.
Oh dear Lord. Isak and Martinez have the same agent. Emi will just stand in the corner during negotiations and pretend to jerk off onto the contract the entire time until Isak just gives up and goes back to Newcastle
I like this idea. We should hold more tryouts. Saliba wants a go, we've seen Merino already, and Rice could probably hammer a shot in.
So without Saliba, it's MLS - Saliba - White/Timber - Timber/White?
Merino wasn't really playing before this so he doesn't necessarily need replacing
Rice is probably the one where we don't have the personnel to replace him, unfortunately. He also needs a break :(
I bet you he told that story on purpose to misdirect them from Merino. He's done it again
I hate to be this guy, but after being mad that Pop OS now defaults to pipewire, it's pretty fucking nice. It's stable and a little annoying to configure, but it works so much better than pulse. Perhaps consider switching?
Speaking of which - poor Declan. I understand the man's a physical freak in terms of his recovery and athleticism, but he has to be close to the red zone, surely. Maybe in addition to the above idea, we start with Jorginho to keep the tempo and defend?
Honestly... I know it was probably not on purpose (this time), but the Merino sub really lifted the team and we started playing more aggressively. I wouldn't be surprised if Mikel continues this trend: use players like Sterling, Rice, Odegaard, as workhorses to tire the opposition, then strategically sub on Merino during the second half depending on the gamestate.
Chidi Obi-Martin given a few minutes in stoppage time by Amorim. I'm not surprised, as the academy is the only thing that can dig United out of the monumentally deep hole they find themselves in. Hope he does okay (except against us, obvi). In the same vein, Ayden Heaven was an unused substitute.
Also, I'm searching for a match replay so I can see it, but it looks like at 31' Konate tactically fouls Cunha, then kicks the ball away to prevent the quick free kick. According to what we've seen recently, that should be two yellow cards for two separate offenses, yes?
This is also 6 minutes before Salah's pen. 👀
Ignoring the fascist nature of Zionism is is ignoring the holocaust that is currently occurring? Fuck out of here.
