The kernel isn't a place to play politics. You can't just yank a component out like that on short notice, even if it has such a horrible story attached to it.

Considering venvs as bloat is being a bit harsh on yourself. True that venvs don't try to share packages among themselves. But storage isn't costly enough to justify the effort in saving there.

There are plenty of development tools that take up more than 5GB of space for no reason. Even there, the bloat comes from the network bandwidth needed to update them and the fact that they make it easy to hide malware. Hardly anything free software can be considered bloated on that account.

Why just Google? Search has gone into the gutter across the board. Certain search constraints like excluding keywords or sites no longer work. Amazon doesn't even care what you type in - they just show you what they want you to buy.

I didn't make the reason for my request very clear. We need discussions to be archived and searchable from the internet. While Matrix is better than Discord when it comes to openness, it isn't much better in terms of searchability. Even the old Google groups were better. I would suggest something like Discourse (the forum).

Have you tried it at all? Email workflow is pleasant even with the unpolished email tools out there. If someone had invested in those tools then the github type workflow wouldn't have become popular.
