I read it as "pick up support for the FOSS projects" as opposed to user IT support.
So, contributing to the FOSS.
Even sponsorship would be awesome, in a "we can't do the tech stuff, but here is 10% of what we saved" kinda way

First time I saw this, I didn't get it.
2nd time I was drunk, and I immediately got it.

I... I don't know what this means for me as a person. Or how I can improve myself

Well the point is that he should never have been the headline to start with.
And now all the sponsors have pulled out, because they don't want to be associated with a festival that is promoting a person like Kanye.

He is. But the people around him and controlling/handling him aren't idiots.
It's either in project 2025, or some other republican playbook. Scattershot out a bunch of crazy news to swamp the news cycle and overwhelm everyone, then get to work doing the dirty stuff

This makes sense in 2 ways:
If they didn't have the offcuts, they would have to buy the materials anyway. So accounting for that cost is required.
If they didn't use the offcuts, they would have to bin/recycle them. This is a good reduce/reuse policy.

It's similar with event kit hire companies. They might have 2 of one item on the book, and know they can subhire a further 2 items from a different company.
If you request to hire 2 of the items, it will likely be at the cost of what the other company charges (well, b2b rate at least) plus a margin (to cover delivery, processing, insurance).
Because the company you go to may or may not have 2 items on the shelf. They might only have 1 or none. And they can't suck up the cost of subhiring.
If they hire out the items on the shelf, great. Probably a bit more profit.
If they have to subhire, no big deal. Just slimmer margins

I hope this is a pausing strategy.
A few more days to see what shakes out of the EU and other allies.
EU and US are about equal for contributions:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crew8y7pwd5o

Considering that the eu is looking at €800bn spending to help arm Ukraine (https://apnews.com/article/europe-defense-ukraine-united-states-trump-c1f12e685afc3e2ca94c9a15ea28d8bb) I don't blame Ukraine for stalling to see what happens.
Monitarily, the EU is the biggest ally. The US is the biggest single ally, but not the biggest ally.
I expect big things from the EU in the next few days, and - in a dream scenario - Zelensky goes back to the white house to "capitulate" and tells them to fuck themselves on live television.
Because you KNOW trump wants Zelensky bending-the-knee to be televised

Need some of those "I did this" stickers.
Except with trump, and next to basics & essentials required to not-starve

You have my sympathy, but not my compassion.

My compassion ran out when America continued to embrace - even celebrate - right wing rule

Alright, I'll ask around.

I thought T568B at each end was standard practice these days

As someone that runs servers, having an immutable os (oe one that "wipes" on updates) is awesome.
The issue is that you are not in control of the config.

Learning to script over it might be worthwhile. Update, apply customisation script, back to normal.
It's good to learn declarative configuration

Ye, go for it.
I'm trying to figure all that out at the moment.
I "woke up" to realising I have been depressed 🫥 for 5 years (except, it's actually 7 or 8 years because COVID just fucked my perception of time). I've not been myself, I've not been happy with myself, and I have just kept on going as usual cause it's the easy route.
I'm trying to fix it, and fuck me is it hard.

Thankfully, I was chatting to a friend. And they started talking about their mental health, their journey and all that. And that's what made me realise I should get help.
One of the things they said that stuck with me was "just keep talking about it". And that's everything from people genuinely asking how you are, to actually asking for help.
