So Luxon, whilst bashing the gov about the clean car scheme and it being used to buy teslas, whilst owning his own tesla, whilst being a very rich person, was asking the crown to buy him another tesla. Sigh.

The Herald understands Luxon was talked out of ordering the car by horrified staff and at least one senior MP, who believed the purchase would be a massive political risk.

I think that pretty much sums up his independent decision making ability

If you are rich enough, there are very few material consequences for doing stupid things.

E.g. make a mistake that costs you personally $100,000? OK, just try again with another $100,000.

This means that he's probably never had to actually suffer any meaningful consequences in his life. Few lessons learnt the hard way.

This makes for a stupid person. "Stupid is as stupid does" after all.
