- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing other users of being bots or paid actors.
- No memes, trolling, misinformation, or low-effort posts/comments (including reposts). If you see posts like this that anger you, do not engage. Report, block, and live a happier life than they do. Any slap-fight is subject to comment removals. Fights full of rule violations will result in temporary bans to cool off.
- No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in an account ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be permanently banned.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules and use critical thinking when reading, posting, and commenting. Users that repeatedly have comments or posts removed, weaponize reports, or violate the code of conduct, will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users. The reason(s) behind moderator action(s) are publicly available through the Modlog.

After voting in Obama, who didn't want anything to do with prosecuting Bush & Cheney for warcrimes, and then Biden, who didn't want anything to do with prosecuting Trump, obviously. But I guess those times don't count for whatever fucking reason??
American reluctance to hold powerful figures accountable isn't a good thing and we've literally just left the question of whether you can prosecute a President at all dangling since we allowed Nixon to resign and fly away. That's qualitatively a bad thing. We have had decades of chances to fix this problem and it doesn't matter who we vote in, no one is dismantling the horrific things that are created in the meantime.
For example, instead of questioning why the TSA and it's security theater exists or whether or not the DHS was a good idea at all, we have people going "Oh but the TSA agents aren't getting paid!" They miss something like 60% of illicit items anyway, and if someone wanted to kill a mass amount of people they would just have to set off a bomb in the long security lines leading up to the airports. It's been security theater since the fucking Bush era, but it's become so normalized we're whining about people who are violating the fourth amendment against unlawful search and seizure by choosing us at random for an unlawful search of our bags not getting paid! Boo hoo! These people who helped throw the fourth amendment out the window two decades ago now aren't getting paid! Cry me a fucking river.
We voted, numerous times, as a country, to hold this kind of corruption to account and numerous times the people in charge failed us miserably, all the way back to Nixon.
That’s one hell of a detour away from the conversation we were having.
Holding Presidents accountable is a detour? Violation of constitutional norms is a detour? No wonder we're in this position, because apparently history and things that led to this outcome don't matter!
I dont think it is.
