Here's a good video on it.
Interesting. Here’s some comments that I found about this speaker: HSBC (his employer at the time) publicly distanced itself from Kirk’s remarks, stating they do not reflect the bank’s views or strategy. Kirk was suspended and later resigned. What I found instead: Most financial institutions, regulators, and scientists recognize climate change as a systemic risk. The Bank of England, the European Central Bank, and the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) all warn that climate change poses significant risks to financial stability, including physical risks (e.g., extreme weather) and transition risks (e.g., stranded assets, regulatory changes)
He's right about the hit to GDP, its insignificant in the long run.
He’s simply an unreliable source, and thus this movie and his statements are worthless. It is always good to doublecheck the sources. Yet, I’m now looking for the speaker that he refers to in his first few words, she may be more interesting to listen to, thanks for the pointer.
