I came in to work today because my boss said he would be working but it turns out that if anyone else was working, they were working from home. It's really lonely here and I had been looking forward to at least seeing co-workers. I have friends and family I can talk to on the phone but some part of my brain that's making me feel bad isn't satisfied by anything that isn't face to face.
For that reason, I've been thinking about getting a dog again. It would be rather expensive because I travel relatively frequently so I would have to pay for someone to take care of it, but the main problem is actually just that on some level I don't want to ever replace my old dog.
I have had many, many cats. Each one holds a piece of my heart.
I don't think of adopting another one as replacing one I just lost.
I'm offering a home, love, and care to another animal to honor all those that came before.
