My uncle was like you when I brought home a stray as a kid. Yelled about it for 2 years. When my cat died he took a week off work and drank and cried all day.

My Dad never wanted any of the animals.

I have pictures of him with 4 animals on his lap at once.

That’s the biggest reason I didn’t want another cat, I had just said goodbye to my best friend of 23 years, Jim Bones, a couple months earlier, it fucking destroyed me. It was some ugly cryin’. That’s in my future once again, now.

Same here. When I lost my last cat. I couldn't bear to have another. Then one chose me. Now she cuddles with my wife and stares at me to make me jealous

It's so rough losing them, but despite that, at least for me, the time we spend with them is worth it.

I agree, and I do love the weird little guy, he’s my buddy. He’s an ungovernable asshole, but that’s kind of why I like him, he’s a rebel, we get each other. Could have used a little more time between cats, though.

His mom, my sister, did the exact same thing when our mom’s cat passed, showed up two days later with a kitten that was meowing outside her window in the rain. He ended up being the perfect little man, though, he’s the kind of cat that makes people think they want a cat, very much unlike the beast that was dropped onto my doorstep.
