Usually I am sympathetic towards people losing their jobs. However, that goes out the window when their government is hostile and I am watching family struggle due to the trade war.

Voting third party in the general is at best sitting it out, at worst voting for the Republican, but you know that.

Republicans are part of the two-party duopoly. voting for a so-called third party is not voting for either of those parties.

It's fptp, third parties are fundamentally nonviable in the overwhelming majority of places. It is functionally impossible for a third party to win the presidency. Due to gerrymandering and the spoiler effect most third party votes help Republicans get elected. Vote for Dems oyn the general and vote for the most progressive candidates available in the primaries. That's the only actual way in the current political system to effect progressive change at the federal level, by tea partying the Dems leftward. Anything else gets republicans elected. But on the other hand the fascism has come too far for elections to fix it any more, so there you go.

Not in the US. Attitude is irrelevant. You either pull the democratic party left by participating in primaries or you help elect Republicans. There are literally no other possibilities.
