This is pretty par for the course for this crowd. "Childfree" spaces are like, Reddit atheists in that while they have a perfectly valid position, they also have a lot of insufferable, smug hyperbole.
Yeah, it’s hard bc a lot of people come in here that are psychotically anti-child.
I like dark humor but this is a space for us to celebrate happiness and breaking away from societal (read:breeder) expectations.
It’s like incel circles - initially it can be a positive community where you’re finding solidarity with others in similar positions. And then, since you’re finding commonality with a shared hatred of a group of people, the posts and ideas being shared devolve into some seriously unhealthy assertions.
Like children should be murdered if they aren’t being quiet in a public place.
Uh, first of all, that doesn't sound like a positive community.
Also, I don't think people here represent themselves as hating a group of people. Even the meme posted (ignoring Casey Anthony) is about hating the situation or behaviour, not hating people for belonging to a group.
Positive for the person participating, not necessarily positive in general. Obviously.
I’ve never come across a childfree community online and have it not revolve around hating children and parents (or “breeders” as I’ve seen this place use).
Childfree individuals on the other hand, not a problem at all and I fully support everyone’s right to choose what’s best for them. Super supportive of that.
I was making observations of the childfree groups I’ve had experience with before.

You're choosing to interpret their words from that one comment that way. The rest of their comments don't support your interpretation.
Their post history is public, it’s more of the same crap over and over, if you checked it, you would see that’s an absolute lie.
Ignore the red flags and think this is a joke if you want.
But out of curiosity, what’s funny about joking about abusing and murdering children? How would this be taken if it was a picture of a gas chamber or other atrocity instead? What’s your interpretation for finding this “funny”?
I looked at their comments in this post (of which there are plenty), I'm not going trawling through their history. They say they didn't know who it was, I also didn't know who it was.
The expression matches the caption really well, when I realised who it was (my wife let me know after I sent it to her) I definitely had an oof moment.
It's not a joke I'd have made intentionally, but the willful misinterpreting and embellishing of OP and others in here is crazy. Of course parents are responsible for their screaming kids, and of course they should remove them from situations where they are being disruptive where practical.
So sharing a joke about hitler and gas chambers is okay until the point you know who it is or the context…? That’s… not an okay world view dude.
It’s a public place, unless there’s specific rules, or management or a worker tells them it’s not okay, you have no right to complain or make a scene. And remove them… to another public place where other people are disturbed….? That’s your solution? Remove the problem from you area?
Why don’t you get up and go try and help console the kid, see what’s wrong? Help the person? Or can you not handle your emotions like an adult? They’re only being disruptive to a few select people, who can remove themselves, or wear headphones, or maybe don’t go out in public if you are that unhinged and can’t handle some loud children in public….?
Have some personal accountability. You have adult places you can go, why do you chose to intrude in child allowable spaces than get mad when they act like kids?

Yeah glorifying a woman who brutally murdered her daughter and got away with it is pretty far over the line, but I don't think the terminally online childfree care too much about being seen as advocating for literal child murder if this group is at all similar to those on Reddit.

the person you're replying to is notorious for constructing ethical frameworks out of thin air then using loaded language and blame/shame tactics to high road any interlocutors who disagrees or adds nuance. theyre actually pretty good at boxing people into corners by steel manning exaggerated versions of their position then knocking them down with pearl clutching tactics. something along the lines of, "I can't believe you laughed a joke about! Don't you know laughing or thinking about a bad thing is morally equivalent to doing the actual thing?!"
they're otherwise actually pretty based in their views and make valid points but come off as antagonistic and self-serious to the point of discouraging others from engaging in conversation where people are allowed to grow and evolve their opinions.
