Macklemore is the better act anyway. Most people probably would have cleared out after he finished
I never saw Ed Sheeran but I saw Mac and can confirm he puts on a hell of a show.
I saw him at the gorge around when he dropped Thrift Shop. I'd definitely see him again.
I've never had the opportunity to see Ed Sheeran, largely because I've never sought out the opportunity to see Ed Sheeran.
I never saw either.. But, I have a lot of interest seeing Macklemore.. I have NO interest seeing Ed Sheeran honestly.
Macklemore probably "speaks" to more people too. I didn't like his music when I first heard it, but, it grew on me fast
Yeah, its like having Rammstein opening for your classic rock band.
My ex once took me to see some small band I can't even remember the name of because it turned out Robert Plant was the opening act. He was secretly opening so he could test out some new material he was working on (Saving Grace) without precolouring people's perceptions, but he was also Robert Plant so he blew the crowd away. I felt genuinely bad that a bunch of young twenty something's had been put in the position of having to follow up on one of the greatest singers of all time. I remember them being fine, I might have enjoyed them in another context, but the contrast in skill and experience was just insurmountable.
I didn't actually give rammstein a proper chance until recently. Was connected to a customers system and they were blasting rammstein, which came to my computer. Actually didn't mind it. Added it to my library
If you like Rammstein, you might like Laibach even more 😂 even Laibach says so

Also, they been a rock band for like 30 years. They are classic rock :-(
I reckon rammstein and Macklemore would be a better replacement to this anyway.

I wouldn't have thought their fan bases would overlap significantly.
They’ve done more than a few songs together. I don’t really follow either artist but they’ve been collaborating for over ten years now

Sheeran sings the hook on a ton of rap/ hiphop songs and both are basically pop music artists.
There is definitely an over lap between people who listen to Ed Sheeran and bump thrift shop.

I don't think I can name any Ed Sheerhan songs but I think I know the vibe, and Thrift Shop is the only song of Macklemore's that I know other than the recent protest song.
That's never stopped a concert gig before. Evanescence shouldn't have toured with Korn all the time, but they sure as shit did it successfully.

They used to also have double features at the drive in movie theaters too, and they'd have some odd mashups. I remember watching the movie Big, and the Rambo 3. Place stayed full.
I remember I saw a double feature of Lilo & Stitch paired with the Bourne Identity. Never understood the target audience of that one 😂
The drive-in nearest me still does that. It's sometimes hard to decide if the kids would make it through all three movies.

So, to me, its weird that Macklemore was only an opening act. I suspect many people could name more Macklemore songs than Ed Sheeran ones, and I definitely hear macklemore on the radio more (on all stations) here in Australia
