Raw-doggin' reality

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

When Trump first ran for office in the 2016 election I thought he was a joke too. Because I remembered people laughing at him as a joke candidate when he ran in 2000.

What happened in between 2000 and 2016 that made him not a joke anymore? The Apprentice. He became a reality TV star and that made him a serious political contender because this is a fucking joke of a country 😂

I think we've "been there" since at least the 1930's in terms of "the majority of people's lives suck for preventable reasons," but there's a lot of propaganda convincing people that their lives are actually awesome.

I will never get over in early Covid when the governments and militaries of the world were sitting around with their thumbs in their asses, unsure what to do.

Meanwhile, ICP straight up canceled the Gathering of the Juggalos. They lost a bunch of money in the process, and said, "We refuse to risk even one Juggalo life." I don't really care for their music, but it gave me a huge amount of respect for them.

Like seriously. Why were the guys who rap about murdering people providing better pandemic leadership than the entire government?

If you hang up an image in a public space people can and will take pictures of it. You can’t stop this.

Never been to an event/gallery that didn't allow photography, huh?

For the AI bubble to not pop, an AI company needs to make money off of AI first. Not raising investments. They need to actually make at least $1 off of using/selling AI services.

This hasn't happened yet, and I don't think it ever will. The AI machines simply cost more to run than they produce, so when the investment money runs out, they'll be shut down.

In 2007: "How could the housing bubble pop? After all, the real estate industry is backed by billionaire CEOs, military, and government influence."

In 1999: "How could the dot com bubble pop? After all, the internet is backed by billionaire CEOs, military, and government influence."

In 1929: "How could the Stock Market crash? After all, international capitalism is backed by millionaire CEOs, military, and government influence."

This rocks and you're 100% correct. Bless you.

I like the part where nobody mentioned the USA until you did 😂

As an American, it seems to me that you appear to have the economic beliefs of a middle class conservative American ("these people's lives suck because they are lazy! How dare they complain?"). Maybe it's time to self-reflect.

EDIT: Doubled down in the replies lmao. Yes, pity is a common conservative emotion.

The meme says "one white guy who really fucks with keeping the fire going." He's clearly not fucking with the fire. He's keeping it going.

Your hopes of a good life in your lifetime end with revolution.

I strongly disagree. My life is already pretty fucked up and doesn't seem like it'll be getting better without some massive political changes.
