I'll do it! I can play the guitar. My wife doesn't like me playing at all. Neither does the neighbors cat. But I'll do it!

So... Ed Sheeran has been a zionist all this time? That's explain why he has been famous which such as shitty music. Is the most simple basic npc I have ever Heard.

[-] JigglySackles@lemmy.world 6 points 4 hours ago

Good. Fuck him. Hope his career tanks.

Kid Rock's available or the poop guy.

[-] D_C@sh.itjust.works 49 points 14 hours ago

Oh, Ed. Ed, Ed, Edward, Eddington. What have you done, fool?

Now if you play alone you'll be saying that genocide is ok, AND you've be knelt down to the billionaires.

If you get another backing band/openers then you'll be saying genocide is ok, AND you'll be actively helping the billionaires.

But if you now pull out of your own tour you'll be seen as you didn't want to pull out but were forced to by all the bad publicity about the genocide that you weren't bothered about in the first place.

Oh, Ed, you've painted yourself into a corner, you dumb fucking cunt. All you had to do was have a little bit of spine, but that was just too much to ask of you.

Meanwhile, Macklemore is coming out of this looking better than ever 😂

"Clean centrists" almost always means "fascist"

[-] scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 28 points 14 hours ago

Right? As soon as they threatened it he had all the leverage in the world. He would have all the positive press of saying he was being forced to cancel because of them, and showed solidarity with his fellow musicians. Could have even offered additional concerts in friendlier areas, promoting other cities and getting more dollars there.

Instead he fucked himself. The only way to semi crawl back is to admit his mistake and stand in solidarity, that's the only move I see, and even then as you said he won't look strong but like a coward.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 8 points 13 hours ago

he remained silent, as to not upset KRAFT who is giving him all these gigs, and not to enitrely upset his fan base. hes gauging how to approach this without losing his sugar daddy privileges.

[-] tired_n_bored@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

why is his expression always like this 😟

[-] UltraMagnus0001@lemmy.world 51 points 18 hours ago

Free Palestine. If those words cost me the stage, while turning the conversation back to Palestine, then it was the most successful tour I’ve been on.”

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 80 points 20 hours ago

the house band dropping is bigger than the openers dropping. dude just shat the bed and then rolled in it.

[-] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 8 points 1 hour ago

Yep, in reality “Ed Sheeran’s backup musicians” have a lot more to lose here than Sheeran himself does, and they’re doing the right thing. He should follow their lead.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 6 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

yeah, Beoga's (the backup musicians/house band's maybe? i don't know the tour) statement is worth reading (sorry for the instagram link but i figure direct from the source is best). One wonders why he didn't consult his band.

What a crazy 24 hours to follow this. I have no interest in any of these artists but respect to all of them for standing up. I only wish everyone would go one step further and refuse to ever play at Krafts Gillette stadium going forward to really stick it to him.

[-] wangaBanga@feddit.online 165 points 23 hours ago

It's great to be on the right side of history.

[-] yamper@piefed.social 12 points 17 hours ago

sometimes your unwarranted hate accidentally becomes incredibly warranted and that feeling rules

[-] auzy1@lemmy.world 110 points 23 hours ago

Macklemore is the better act anyway. Most people probably would have cleared out after he finished

[-] hOrni@lemmy.world 47 points 22 hours ago

I never saw Ed Sheeran but I saw Mac and can confirm he puts on a hell of a show.

Yeah, its like having Rammstein opening for your classic rock band.

[-] Simon_Shitewood@lemmy.ml 4 points 5 hours ago

My ex once took me to see some small band I can't even remember the name of because it turned out Robert Plant was the opening act. He was secretly opening so he could test out some new material he was working on (Saving Grace) without precolouring people's perceptions, but he was also Robert Plant so he blew the crowd away. I felt genuinely bad that a bunch of young twenty something's had been put in the position of having to follow up on one of the greatest singers of all time. I remember them being fine, I might have enjoyed them in another context, but the contrast in skill and experience was just insurmountable.

HA! Fucking loser

[-] bitteroldcoot@piefed.social 38 points 23 hours ago

Didn’t the billionaire class step up and say they would cancel all the venues if Macklemore wasn’t dropped?

Certainly has turned into a cluster fuck.

[-] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 35 points 22 hours ago

Ed should have called that bluff instead of giving in

[-] adarza@lemmy.ca 2 points 47 minutes ago

that might have been an interesting court case.

[-] bitteroldcoot@piefed.social 28 points 22 hours ago

Does he look like the kind of guy that fights the powers that be?
