"Issa argued that online piracy helps fund terrorist groups and other criminal networks. ". I never thought of AI companies as terrorists, but it's a good label for the harm it's caused

Well, technically it can, in that some piracy installs things that make them money, and that can go for their private gain or their pet projects. Kinda like how google offers you free products that make money for them.

the ironic part of this is in some cases it can. Pirate broadcasts and media boxes are becoming increasingly common to have subscription models for way cheaper than you would having the traditional streaming subs.

We are in a world where even piracy is starting to cost money in some cases fair cause convienence, but its still weird to think about. Everything always goes full circle.

That's been the talk track since back on VHS. Apparently copying that tape from Block Buster went straight into buying drugs and weapons.

There was a very weird PSA video I think they put out there at the beginning of some of them.
