after 15 years, iOS has finally caught up with all the main android features, such as
- very mid ui design
- kinda floaty feeling
- unpolished vibe android itself has progressed little, although it is rapidly achieving feature parity with iOS on "locked down user hostility". overall both ecosystems look very appealing, energetic, and healthy, for shareholders

From the perspective of a longtime hater of both iOS and Android:
I can’t press everything with one hand because the phone is too big (iOS “caught up“ to this a looong time ago with the iPhone 6)
The idea was that it would be customizable, the end result is that none of the menus feel “permanent.” As iOS has gotten more customizable, it now has this “feature” too.
iOS used to feel like it had very centralized design. Android was basically a bunch of different “Androids” doing a bunch of different stuff. Nowadays, iOS feels like it lacks focus as well.
I mean do you just have baby hands? I don’t have the biggest hands and I have no problem using one hand even on a pro max. My wife uses her smaller sized pro one handed just fine.
I've been an android user since I started using smart phones in the late 2000s. Android IMO has always been more user friendly and allowing someone to create their own "desktop" so to speak. Meanwhile Apple was always the "I don't like technology" phone. There was no customization, the "desktop" was just the Android app page and nothing else. Nothing could be unique to you outside of a wallpaper or a ringtone. Anyone with an iPhone just had an iPhone. It was the same thing. But someone with the same android phone could have different app placements, widgets here or there, and felt different even if it was the same phone.
Apologies for the rant, I am stoned as fuck and I ramble (And have a new keyboard I am trying to break in)

My first android was an alcatel with android 3. I loved it, but it was quite bad in many ways, even for the time. It took android a long time to mature.
Let's hope mobile Linux won't take as long.
I truly believe people should be able to change every little minor UI feature on their pc/phone/whatever if they want to. But I also believe that if they do, they're a fucking dork.
if I'm gonna use the same phone for years, I'll take a couple days to perfect how i want it to look, Android makes that easy
So you think someone is a dork because they make a device they use every day easier to use uniquely for them? So I'm a dork because I have two weather widgets on my phone for hourly updates, and one for radar because I work outside? Or that I have a clock that shows my local time in Canada as well as the time in Zagreb, Croatia because my girlfriend lives there?
Is someone a dork who installs a new version of Windows who installs their games or makes folders for their finances add to the main wallpaper so they have easier access to their games or the folders for their finances?
Every phone has widgets. That's not customizing a UI element. If you change the colors and fonts of everything, if you have an opinion on the minimize animation, if you spend more time ricing your machine than using it, you're a dork.
Just to clarify: Android had widgets from the very beginning. iOS got widgets in version 14.
Ability to change colors and fonts are accessibility features, animation can be distracting and frustratingly long, what's dorky about trying to change the behaviour of device instead of changing yourself to meet some dorks expectations on how things should look and feel?
If you honestly believe I'm talking about people with legitimate reasons to change these things then you're an even bigger dork.
