These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.

Took three days to go from list to reservation queue, then another four before getting the green light on placing my order.
The site informed me that shipping would be a bit slow given the volume of orders, and two days later, it's ostensibly packed and awaiting transfer to the carrier.
Wait, according to Steam FAQ you should be at the back of the reservation queue, right?
How can it be that you already placed your order?
If I get a reservation email directly (no wait list), I would expect to be able to order before anyone on the wait list. Or are the dropouts filled without losing their original place in the queue?
I don't mind you getting the frame sooner than me (yay for you), but isn't the system broken? What region are you in if you don't mind saying?
I wasn't waitlisted. It took me just a few days to get through the reservation queue, apparently.
Oh, ok - I misread "going from list to reservation" as "going from wait-list to reservation list"
