Just demonstrates how dangerous it is to let a private entity construct a constellation that entire countries rely on.
As if it being in Trump's direct control would be better.
It’s probably a bad idea for it to be the property of a single nation, too.
It will still be controlled by someone or something. And some nation will probably have greater indirect influence on it. And if it's a truly independent organization then how is it different from private ownership? you can't escape inevitable politics and abuse connected to this kind of power.
But wouldn’t it be better than at the personal whims of a megalomaniac?
I mean sure but I don't believe this can be achieved. No country will relinquish control of such satellite constellations in the name of greater good, because they will be afraid that someone else would use it against them.
