I just buy plain color t shirts to begin with, this looks like a lot of work and risk nicking the fabric. Plus, they're cheaper, too.

Plain t shirts that aren't garbage are difficult to find.

Mmm one would think there would be some way to tell the quality manufacturer from the shitty ones. How would that work right? Would they put on a little tag to make it easily identifiable? No no that's fuckin crazy

Ps wrangler specifically sells the same workwear shirt with no tag for printing, you just gotta order it from the website by request.

I get shirts from tshirtwholesaler.com, there may be a hyphen in there somewhere. My preferred t-shirt is next level 6210, fantastic shirt, soft, great fit. There's a couple other companies I like too.

Anyway, the whole point of this is I buy like a dozen or 20 shirts, they end up costing like 4 or 5 bucks a pop, max, and I wear them til they die. They're in various colors. Sometimes my wife will press some odd design onto them with her Cricut and whatnot.

I'm a big fan of band tshirts, but the majority I find are terrible quality shirts with sometimes just a generic logo. So I like to get creative with a shirt of my choosing.

Website seems to be t-shirtwholesaler.com, gonna keep that in my back pocket for later, thank you!

Bookmarking that, if you don't mind me asking do the sizes run pretty standard?

I'm sorry, but I can't accept that much responsibility. I'm 5'8, guy, pretty average build, and the NextLevel 6210 comes about mid biceps, and probably an inch or so below my belt line. It fits me great.

There are decent enough sizing charts on the site, IIRC. I'm the kind of guy who buys the same shoe for the past 25 years, so when I find something that works, that's it, forever.

Makes sense, what size did you order at 5'8 if you don't mind me asking

I buy mines on Amazon, I restock every black Friday, between 6 and 8 euros, depending on the color/sale.

I also wear a lot of merch t-shirts, but if I get a free t-shirt I find the advertising fair, and it's usually for things I like anyway.

It’s really easy and takes like five minutes. Everyone should have a seam ripper. Not just to remove brands but also annoying tags. Also I imagine most on lemmy don’t care about this, but if you buy a suit coat/blazer/whatever you’ll need a seam ripper to open up the pockets.

I don't know, it takes 0 minutes and 0 dollars in tools to buy a t-shirt without branding. Plus the t-shirt itself is cheaper.

speaking as someone who modifies clothing and sews patches and fabric and stuff a lot, sometimes for work, thread rippers are surprisingly elegant for this sort of thing
