Because the prices of those don’t go up? By your logic, people shouldn’t buy anything that costs more than it used to.
Do you purposefully misinterpret one comment and then do the same when someone answers your question?
What is there to misinterpret?
The comment I am responding to states that inflation is caused by consumers’ choice to keep buying. Thus, if one doesn’t want food to be expensive, one should not buy food, problem solved. What am I misunderstanding? Can you explain how can I make food cheaper by not buying it?
Second question. What happens after I voted with my wallet and now taco bell is cheaper again? Can I buy it then? Or will that make it expensive again?
So Taco Bell has a monopoly on food, yeah?
Are we 3 levels deep of you doing this on purpose now, or are you serious?
I’m serious that I find the comment extremely stupid. Like Taco Bell is the cheapest fucking trash that can be called fast food, and we’re pretending it’s people’s fault that it’s getting unaffordable? Is Taco Bell the new avocado toast?
My grocery bill for good, fresh food, nothing processed, is $80/week. Just over 10 bucks a day. That's for everything I eat in one week, except tap water.
People get so triggered when you don't do things like waste money on chips and soda or other nutritionally void items. Yet that's where so many American's grocery bills are bloated
Good for you. Still, food prices, including groceries, increased by unusually large amounts multiple times in the past 5 years. I don’t think the only problem with food affordability is the lifestyle of people who are not you. You are kind of suggesting that only restaurants are expensive, and groceries aren’t, which is simply not true.

No, because it's always cheaper than eating out.
