A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype.
Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Why is a child’s photo online to begin with? Also how do we know it’s not the dad who used AI to remove his child’s eyes from the photo to get clicks?
I think it's the other way around.
Someone shared a photo of their disabled child and someone make them look normal.
I think.
Don’t want to be a dick here, and I don’t think you meant anything by it, but I just wanted to provide a friendly note:
The opposite state of being disabled is being “able”
Some would assume that your current phrasing carries with it the subtext that “disabled people are not and cannot be normal”
(Personally I don’t think of ‘normalcy’ as really being a thing in humans, everyone is fairly uniqie for better or worse)
Fair enough. I was searching for the right word and I got it wrong. I certainly have my own peculiarities and agree that the concept of a normal human is unhelpful.
I suppose we don't know, but either way it's fucked and says nothing good and the world we live in
A phrase that could be applied to an uncomfortable number of situations we see in the modern world.
Even worse, why Instagram? If you're posting a picture of your disabled child on the internet, why would you put it on a platform full of edgy humoured people who would compete against each other to see who makes the most degrading and ableist comment, if you aren't doing it solely to get clicks and engagement?
