Yeah people were getting needlessly abusive, and I don't think anyone was convincing anyone. Really, without published peer reviewed studies being linked, it's one word against another.
Plus there's the whole thing where people don't actually change their opinions based on internet arguments (often this is true even with citations).
I'll be interested to see the guidelines that the moh published because they're typically pretty reasonable.
