The last time (I assume you meant the woman who missed her flight to a concert) sounds flakey. You cannot punish people on the basis that there was any contract to get them to a place within a set period of time. Airlines cancel flights for all sorts of reasons.

Takeaway food aside, the lawsuit had a good chance of succeeding.

Yup, this sounds like a genuine case of the partner refusing to repay a loan.

They declined the takeaway food too though.

The part she was reimbursed for was the car loan and medication costs.
