Oh, yeah, I get you. I'm the same way about the color purple. l won't rest until the entire hue is eliminated from the electromagnetic spectrum, and anyone who uses it for anything, for any reason, is shunned as a degenerate.

You're talking to a fellow obstinate. We can accomplish literally anything, no matter how outlandish or inane. I hate purple so much!!!

I clicked your name, curious why you used a seemingly real name - all of that info was immediately gleaned with a cursory glance.

"Digging through my profile" - talk about not being that bright...

Thanks, Scott, I'm glad you recognize my contribution. Your opinion, specifically, means a lot to me.

Edit: you've had your account for four years, you've made a grand total of three comments, and one of them was to chastise me? A third of your Lemmy existence has been devoted to me... I'm touched.

You seem to miss that I just copied and pasted the comment that I was originally replying to. I was highlighting the hypocrisy, and your comment actually applies to the author of the text I copied and pasted. In effect, you have crafted my response for me. Thank you.

You're deluding yourself, friend, and will only cause yourself more pain in the long run than if you just accepted reality now. Eradicating AI is as likely as eradicating computers themselves. I mean, I'm not going to delete the dozens of models off my devices, and I'm just one person.

Accept that innovation is here, and find a winnable battle to focus on.

Are the other dozen "AI is awesome!!!" with varying number of exclamation marks at the end? 🤔

But they want it to be cool to be metaphorical ostriches with their proverbial heads stuck in the figurative ground!

Fo shizzle, chat! His flow be bussin', yo.

🤣 This comment needs more slang and buzzwords.

You aren't capable of doing what your car does, though.

It's accurate, though.

People are just going to disagree with you, argue, insult you, and at the end, you've wasted your time for absolutely no gain to anyone. There's no benefit to posting anything on Lemmy, unless you need external validation - either confirming your perspective, or seeking praise from a third party.

Exceptions are when your profile is associated with some larger organization, scheme with an obscure goal, is an attempt to gather information, or the literal goal is to waste time, your own or others.

This means that every post not meeting those exceptions is an altruistic act that you should consider being grateful for. Someone expended time and effort for the purpose of entertaining you, a complete stranger, they'll likely never know and never meet. They wasted their own time so they could improve yours.

Strictly of legal age, but old men are better lovers for young women, and young men are better lovers for older women.

Why? Many reasons:

  1. Their libidos are better matched - older men are starting to slow down just as women's libido increase due to menopause.
  2. An older man is more likely to know how to make a woman orgasm, while an older woman is going to be more confident in telling her partner what she wants, which leads to younger women learning how to enjoy sex, and younger men learning how to pleasure a partner.
  3. Attraction - men typically find youth attractive, while women typically find seniority to be attractive. This is a natural result of evolution causing men to seek more viable pairing for offspring, and women to seek more experienced men who have demonstrated fortitude and likely have acquired resources to support children.

In society, the knee jerk reaction is to shun or mock pairings of opposite ends of the age spectrum (I decided to post this after seeing Hugh Hefner and Leonardo DiCaprio being the target of mockery) but their relations are the healthiest and best possible match for both parties.

Exceptions to the rules - not all older men have learned how to help their partners orgasm, and not all older women have their libidos rev up to match that of young men - but in general, older<->younger is the ideal pairing sexually.

Edit: Based on the upvote/downvote ratio this is NOT an unpopular opinion. I had no idea so many people agreed with me! 😯

I spent the day setting up my new Retroid Pocket Nova, focusing specifically on Japanese games that were never released in English. The only problem is there are dozens of ROM variants, with different translators, goals, and extent of modifying the original game.

In years past I would have had to:

  • Find discussions about each available patch
  • Read page after page of opinions
  • Try to come up with a summary of the key differences
  • Decide which one is a best match for my preferences

Thanks to AI, though, I can just prompt my LLM of choice with my preferences at the beginning, like: " My goal is to enjoy the games with minimal changes to gameplay, with a focus on accurate translation from the original Japanese text to English. With that in mind, please tell me which is best for each of the following games."

Then, one after another, copy/paste the list of available patches as a prompt with no additional input, and within seconds the LLM tells me which version is the closest match to my ideal. That's cutting down a 2-3 hour process into ten second and it is glorious!

Now I have more time to spend on actually enjoying the games, rather than researching all the patches and risk running into spoilers as I read through the differences.

On top of that, it can guide me to games I never even knew existed! I can say "please tell me the top ten games of {genre(s) of my choice} that have fan translation patches for {platform I'm researching}. Rank based on critic reviews, user reviews, and whether the game is the definitive version on this platform." Within moments, I have dozens of recommendations finely tailored to exactly what I want! There's no equivalent to this rapid functionality without using AI.

AI is awesome! Wooooo!
