They changed their tune a couple of years back. They've condemned Russia And supportive of sanctions

They're still talking about the 2SS as if the colonial state hasn't been poking holes in it for decades. You can't have a sovereign state next to an expansionist. The native Americans fell for that one.

Israel is the biggest supporter of far right parties globally and have been implicated in countless election scandals.

Remember, it took Trump to make the federal regulators look the other way and then Newsom to make the state regulators look away.

An ethno-supremacist political ideology is very different than an ethnicity, because not everyone from that ethnicity prescribes to that supremacist ideology.

Unless he's simply saying as a blanket statement that they abide by the motion and also don't exclude anyone. But it seems like he disagrees with the motion on the basis that it might excluded people on the basis of ethnicity (and therefore conflating the two).

I don't think that whatever entity is being referenced in the article is the generally accepted government by the Yemenis themselves. Literally the reason for the civil war.

The Guardian does a good job of pointing out the competing imperialists (not surprising, Israel is part of the conversation with Arab Gulf states)

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/sep/29/saudi-arabia-urged-to-reconcile-with-uae-to-drive-back-houthi-separatists-in-yemen

An additional proposal is to use Israeli intelligence and hire Israeli private security firms, something the UAE has done in the past in Yemen, sometimes to brutal effect.

Yeah, Dynacare won the contracts when there was a conservative government in Manitoba between 2016 - 2023. Dynacare had a monopoly on lab results as of 2017.

While I'm 2025 Manitoba increased Dynacare's funding and subsidies with the intention that their employees would get paid better, dynacare pocketed the money (shocker).

It'll now be twice as expensive to move it back to publicly managed, but I'm hoping that Wab puts in the groundwork for that.

Agreed. This is one of those things where legally binding agreements and a ton of money is the basic first step to reconciliation. It has to go so much further, but Canada is the only post-colonial (many argue still-colonial) country that has reparations on the agenda and in the curriculum.

He's an asshole that is purposefully conflating an ethnosupremacist ideology with Jewishness.

Like sure false flag and all.

But how the hell is the blowing up of nordstream meant to be a black flag? If anything, it was obvious that it was opponents of Russia (mainly the US) because of how opposed they were to it.

The lab test work was publicly run, then privatized. Wab said that he's asking that it be made public again, which isn't cheap. Anything privatized is a ticking time bomb and this one blew up in Wab's face.

I agree, the only way to extract rights is by hurting the capitalist class. I just feel bad for the patients because lab results are a life or death situation, and that's being used to force people back to work. If the company was held responsible for the delayed work (like penalty fees) or legal liable for someone's death, then I'm sure we would have seen a much quicker turnaround (maybe something the Manitoba NDP should put into law).

If only it were the good ol' days of beating your employer until they agreed to pay better wages.

[-] Rat_in_a_hat@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

Definitely a rock and a hard place. Healthcare (including it's downstream work) should have never been privatized to begin with.

While it's still a tough choice, Wab should also take steps to make sure that the negotiations remain public and transparent. The Manitoba NDP need to put their weight behind the workers while they go back to work.
