For those that don’t m or what happened was it just that no one else had a career out of it? Or did something tragic happen?

Man they’ve really gone to shit lately.

I liked Hello Fresh. My wife and I were at a stage where we didn’t have a lot of on hand recipes and wanted to outsource thinking about meals while our life was in chaos. Hello Fresh helped us with some basic cooking skills and got us through the rough patch.

In the following years though we had to drop it as

  1. We had kids and it doesn’t make sense to spend all the time cooking this when your kids won’t eat it
  2. The quality started taking a nosedive

It’s a shame. They were great several years ago but I feel like current economic conditions and the need for growth over stability is gonna kill them.

I dunno if you told me “Hey if you’re 250 lbs and you lose 12.5 lbs your health will improve drastically” I’d say that’s pretty eye opening.

Different strokes for different folks though.

I dunno having just 5% lost making a huge impact is kinda surprising.

Losing just 5% of your body weight in middle age can reduce inflammation, lower the risk of stroke and make your heart as healthy as if you had never gained weight, research suggests.

Like yeah no shit lose weight = healthy but I think the 5% marker is the more useful tidbit.

Damn I can’t believe I missed that.

I saw the eMuhdra one but missed this. Gotta start my rss feed project again and start getting news.

SEO

If you search “watch XYZ online” Google will still link to Netflix even if they don’t carry it.

80% of the time when you ask “why is there content I don’t want” the answer is SEO.

Out of all the things to reboot Coach sure is one of them.

Yeah I’ve finally got disposable income and wanted to get back into MTG, but part of what I loved was the universe and setting. Just doing Marvel and TMNT sets kinda sucks the fun out of that.

I’m gonna test the limits of the ~~subreddit~~ community name. I was watching some baseball on some edibles and I had a thought if it’d be possible to get hit just right by a baseball to take a chunk of a person out. You know like an anime shot.

I assume it’d have to be a massive force that isn’t possible. But maybe it is and no one’s tried because they’re not sadistic?

I’m looking to start tracking food again. Between wanting to get healthier and it looking like I have gout it’d be good to start tracking this stuff again. Used to use MyFitnessPal 10 years ago but things change so much.

What’s everyone’s go to? I could just make a local spreadsheet but if there’s something that’s easier that’s great.

EDIT: This happened back in 2025. Will leave as I’m sure I’m not the only one that didn’t know, but I saw it on hacker news and didn’t realize it was a year old. My bad.

In an odd approach to trying to improve customer tech support, HP allegedly implemented mandatory, 15-minute wait times for people calling the vendor for help with their computers and printers in certain geographies.

Callers from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, and Italy were met with the forced holding periods, The Register reported on Thursday. The publication cited internal communications it saw from February 18 that reportedly said the wait times aimed to “influence customers to increase their adoption of digital self-solve, as a faster way to address their support question. This involves inserting a message of high call volumes, to expect a delay in connecting to an agent and offering digital self-solve solutions as an alternative.”
