They're all real for sure except dicksplash and fuckletoes, but I can't choose between them.

I can definitely see dicksplash being used as an insult down the pub.

Fuckletoes is in a weird dead zone. It's far too poncey for working class use, but far too crass for the toffs.

The rest I've heard used before.

I was leaning towards fuckletoes also, never heard dicksplash although it wouldn't be a surprise, but really any of them would generally be appropriate. You're supposed to get a little creative from time to time.

My favourite one that not so many people have heard is "that's rare as rocking horse shit".

Dicksplash is not in common usage, but it's real

I really want fuckletoes to be real, though. like you're just minding your business and one of them comes sauntering along and oh shit, here comes old fuckletoes

The great thing about English is that you can just do that! In fact every word on the list started out that way. Of course there's situations where you shouldn't say fuckletoes out loud, like a children's birthday party, but it's perfectly appropriate bar slang, and of course in your head you're free to use it about that one kid as well.

The great thing about natural language, in fact.

Same here! Never heard those two, but I'm sure they'll spread soon enough. Fuckletoes sounds great!

Sir, we just received a strange signal from the direction of Andromeda. We think it's some kind of natural harmonic resonance, perhaps even a message.

Fuckletoes is made up.

I've heard of all of the others.

[–] dogsnest@lemmy.world 9 points 5 months ago

The made up word is whichever seems most cromulent.

[–] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago

My favorite is fuckletoes

I've heard the first 4.

i kinda suspect pillock just because it's normal and the rest aren't.

[–] cynar@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

"You (complete) pillock!" is an often used insult for someone who's just done something idiotic or stupid.
