Chris Penk is kind of a dumbass, isn't he? The amount of things he's been completely wrong about is a very long list.

What? I hadn't heard about this before now but.... surely most people learn how insulation works in Intermediate school. What a bizarre claim.

You'd really think so, wouldn't you? It's a little disturbing just how little he seems to understand about this.

You ultimately get the representation you vote for. Maybe not everyone but I really expected better from NZ

I wasn't expecting miracles from a National led government, but I expected better than this.

It's all about the short term, this reminds me of the time that Mike Hosting said that petrol engines are simple when comparing to electric motors.

Just completely uninformed!

Holy shit what a dumbass.

I've seen both electric and petrol motors disassembled, a modern combustion engine is a massively complex piece of equipment, with insanely tight tolerances, and hundreds, if not thousands, of moving parts, and will absolutely self destruct if a critical component fails.

An electric motor, on the other hand, has one moving part, and can run continuously for years without maintenance.

As long as the bearings are maintained, motors that don't experience shock loading can run for a long time.

I remember a motor that had no maintenance done on it in 2 years, it only failed due to the dust build up causing it to overheat. That is ~17500 hrs of running, without any maintenance at all.
