If veteran charities could stop trying to align with fascists this veteran would be a lot happier. I have PTSD and I don't want a dime of this money. That dumbfuck created his situation and killed someone over property that wasn't his after threatening to kill protestors. The only reason he isn't locked up is because the judge is as fascist as he is.

I lost 4,000 friends fighting Authoritarianism and Religious Extremism. I'm not sure where the fuck anyone thinks it's a good idea to associate us with far right stuff except for the guys trying to recruit us.

In addition to murder, Kyle also used a gun that he obtained illegally from a friend as a minor and crossed state lines with illegally.

[–] Facebones@reddthat.com 7 points 1 hour ago

70% With TDIU here and 100% agree.

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 15 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

As a veteran, I get the worst shit thrown at me. All the ads for black rifle coffee and the worst "for men" products. Also, they just assume I’ll vote republican so all the bs that comes with that assumption.

They haven’t really missed until my generation so I get it. A lot of the vets from the 90s and further back are pretty "conservative" to the point that I avoid them at the VA and won’t join those socials anymore.

[–] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 3 points 58 minutes ago (1 children)

I feel you. I like to shoot, gardening, and woodworking. Aparently, that makes me a prepper and a fundie. I just want tomatoes and pretty begonias. I purposefully watch leftist stuff on YouTube to "reset" their algo. Works for a few months.

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 1 points 19 minutes ago

Yeah, turns out a lot of preppers can food.

I love canning! Hate everything else. I just want to look up recipes for candied jalapeños without also hearing about batshit theories.

[–] dethedrus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 58 points 3 hours ago

How could this chinless monster be any less counter culture than murdering 'undesirables' while shielded by cops and the republican establishment?

Nazi punks fuck off!

[–] FoxyFerengi@lemm.ee 125 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (4 children)

How fucking tone deaf to have a wanna be vigilante, who terrorized people on our own soil, and who killed innocent Americans, be a guest speaker for a charity event benefiting veterans and first responders with ptsd. Honestly, it's insulting

Edit: also what the fuck, the ceo said the people who are calling out the bad choice are "mentally ill". I am a veteran with ptsd, I know I'm mentally ill. Don't fucking diminish my struggle because you don't like people bringing up valid concerns. Someone needs to smash a guitar over that fuckwad's head

[–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 12 points 1 hour ago

also what the fuck, the ceo said the people who are calling out the bad choice are "mentally ill".

I think saying mentally ill is them trying to say the R slur without saying it.

Now that’s punk

Let Me Bleed said, “Though we are advocates of free speech we are collectively not a political band.“

This would be funny if it wasn’t so fucking dumb.

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 40 points 4 hours ago

Nazi punks
Nazi punks
Nazi punks-Fuck Off!

[–] grasshopper_mouse@lemmy.world 22 points 3 hours ago

I hope this bastard never gets laid

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 2 hours ago

Great thumbnail. Really highlights this POS's stupid face.

[–] AFC1886VCC@reddthat.com 38 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

You must be tone deaf if you think metal bands are going to stand for this sort of shit.

[–] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 11 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I dunno, I think Iced Earth would be down. If the sole remaining member wasn't still in prison, that is.

[–] dvlsg@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

There's always some oddballs, unfortunately.

"Nazi punks fuck off" implies Nazi punks have to exist.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 152 points 6 hours ago (3 children)

By all rights, this kid should be in prison. Since we couldn’t do that, shunning him relentlessly will have to do.

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 4 points 2 hours ago

Didn’t he have a Harvard scholarship and clerkship under a Supreme Court justice lined up?

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 91 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

And punishing any organization that platforms him.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 23 points 4 hours ago

Looks like people can get refunds up until a week before the event. I hope they are taking advantage.

[–] DScratch@sh.itjust.works 51 points 6 hours ago

I’m sure conservatives have no issue with the free market deciding.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 21 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I was browsing newest comments for the lulz, and saw your comment without the context. I knew it would be that douche.

[–] mayo@lemmy.world 17 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Woah I didn't know you could browse lemmy by comments. That's a whole new zone of content. Scaled still doesn't make sense.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 8 points 3 hours ago

Yeah, at least on PC.

[–] grte@lemmy.ca 123 points 6 hours ago (5 children)

On Instagram, Shell Shock founder and CEO Tyler Hoover rebuffed the bands ditching the festival, and those criticizing it, saying, “I’m here to tell you, you’re not punk, you’re not hardcore. You people, the people that are trolling and the people that are talking shit, you guys are the mentally ill portion of society. You guys are the ones that are manipulated.”

Historically reactionary genre, punk.

[–] ByteOnBikes@slrpnk.net 10 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I vomited a little.

Like "Leader of Anonymous" or "President of the Anarchy Club".

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 1 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

Historically speaking Dictator was a more popular title for the leader of a republic, but President would be used for minor leadership roles like book clubs.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 15 points 4 hours ago

Tyler Hoover is part of the machine and represents The Man, most square and uncool. Can't trust Tyler Hoover to understand why he is part of the problem because he isn't smart enough for self reflection.

[–] assembly@lemmy.world 33 points 5 hours ago

This CEOs comment is as far removed from punk as possible. I mean that’s like saying Reagan was punk. Opposite ends of the spectrum. I fear these pieces of shit are going to start pushing Nazi punk. Nazi punks fuck off!

[–] rtxn@lemmy.world 120 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

and CEO

Dude is the opposite of punk, and a victim of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 63 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (1 children)

You know that line from Don Henley's song "Boys of Summer" that went:

Out on the road today
I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac

That's this guy.

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 33 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

More the Ataris’ cover:

Out on the road today

I saw a Black Flag sticker on a Cadillac

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 17 points 5 hours ago

While I'm firmly in the "The Ataris' cover was better than Henley's version" camp, and I get the punk/Black Flag connection for this particular comparison, I feel that in general the original gets the point across better. I think more people would have gotten the dissonance of a Caddy driver with a Grateful Dead sticker when the original was recorded, versus the cover.

Maybe he only listens to neonazi punk?

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.ca 33 points 6 hours ago

Neonazi Punks Fuck Off!

[–] TwoBeeSan@lemmy.world 93 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

That chinless murderer can't fade away quick enough.

[–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Quick someone get him a black hoodie and send him to George Zimmerman’s neighborhood.

[–] Crashumbc@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

That's the other fuckwad! I get them confused.

[–] zcd@lemmy.ca 35 points 6 hours ago

I can't think of anything less metal than this loudmouth, crybaby murderer

[–] SacredHeartAttack@lemmy.world 34 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Good on Evergreen Terrace. If you didn't know, they rip and you should listen to them.

[–] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 7 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Do you have any comparisons? I've saved your comment to look them up later, I'm just curious as to what I should expect

[–] hactar42@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

They do rock. They are metalcore with a punk edge. I'd say most similar Sick of it All. Maybe Blood for Blood, H2O, or Agnostic Front.

[–] SacredHeartAttack@lemmy.world 1 points 4 minutes ago

Yeah these are decent comparisons. They were just heavy, fast old school hardcore punk. Also do a bunch of killer covers.

[–] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Now I have five bands to look up

[–] philycheeze@sh.itjust.works 22 points 5 hours ago

The fact that one of the only replacements they could find is a Slipknot cover band is hilarious
