I could never play the banjo...

[–] GluWu@lemm.ee 7 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I'll learn banjo if you can do washtub bass

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Those are the booties boots I've seen. I'm not sure why though.

[–] celeste@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 months ago

Sry to disappoint you.

[–] Gerbylynn@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

All it takes is banjo practice

[–] celeste@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 months ago

Margaret Killjoy also lives in Appalachia.

What's going on in them thar hills that makes it so appealing to goth/punk transgirls?

[–] Zoomboingding@lemmy.world 22 points 2 months ago

People live there, therefore there will be trans people.

Also it's beautiful. I highly recommend the Great Smokey Mountains, Shenandoah National Park, and the New River Gorge.

There's a haunting beauty to it, and no one bothers you once you're like, 200 yards into the nearest woods. You can just be yourself.

It's because we're mostly fucking cool here.

[–] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago

It's hillbilly Switzerland.

Aren't basically all goths trans goths? Very slim chance that someone would be AGAB

[–] anothercatgirl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Most of the goth girls I know are cisgender girls , but there's a few trans goth girls I know as well.

[–] caseyweederman@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Haha. "assigned goth at birth"

[–] anothercatgirl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 months ago

Oooh that makes absolutely no sense at all but it's funny

[–] python@programming.dev 2 points 2 months ago

But are they cisgoth?

[–] MachineFab812@discuss.tchncs.de 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Anyone who takes Dueling Banjos to mean anything has never given Sunny Came Home a good listen.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Turn it up at the end. It’s a fucking story.
