At least on paper, Real-Debrid's November 2024 announcement detailing new anti-piracy measures, suggested a tough time ahead for the popular platform. Under pressure from dozens of powerful rightsholders, Real-Debrid's position looked precarious to put it mildly; not precarious enough for the service to throw in the towel, however. Three months later, a 16% drop in traffic is painful but non-fatal.

I was late to the debrid party, only been exploring real Debrid as of a week, and even later to the news the service being impacted 2 months ago. I don’t notice anything not in order. Anyone care to share their experience since then?

I am impressed with watch a debrid service offers. Any alternatives I could explore?

I think the Stremio + RD combo made piracy too easy and lots of users newer to piracy panicked when they saw the announcement and started asking for refunds and alternatives before anything even happened. I also started using RD a short while before the announcement and there has been no change for me at all, everything still works like when I first started using it.

I use alldebrid because my use case is slightly weird (I want to keep files in my debrid and stream them from it so I can have a big Jellyfin library without having much storage) and their retention is best.

Torbox is a newer to the market (less will be cached) with a couple of bonus features. My second hand impression of it is that it’s still in Beta (usable, but not free of bugs or stable). They seed the torrents you download.

Debridlink is less popular (less will be cached), but seems well liked. They also seed the torrents you download

I guess those 16% are filehoster downloaders. Most debrid users prefer streams.
