Yes you have to initiate the installation manually, and if it doesn't have wifi access (not cellular) it doesn't download the updates either.
Genuine question, what would it take for you to trade in your Tesla for another car?
I mean, presumably the car not working anymore? I'm not sure what you're trying to ask them.
I'm asking if there is anything at all that Musk or the Tesla company could do, any hard line that could be crossed, which would make them trade in the car for something else.

I want my Tesla to say some really racist, sexist, homophobic, and antisemitic things just before it plows into a group of school children crossing the street.

It is amazing how desperate the goddamn Nazis are to spread their psychotic ideology. Do they not know what happened last time they did this?
honestly, I think we're all in for a rude awakening. there's varying shades of prejudice in the world and we're about to find out who's on which side of the "Nazi" line.
some are obvious, others not so much. I also think there's going to be some more surprises along the way outside of Jewish fascists or self-proclaimed black Nazis.
there was nuance to WW2 that we lost in translation of history because it wasn't part of the narrative the script writers wanted to tell.
All I can hope for is a bloodless transition back to sanity and back to a constitutional republic with a solidification of rights to all citizens including basic human rights as documented by the UN.

What guardrails? Grok was intentionally designed without any. Don’t believe me? Go on the website and ask if to generate something awful - it’ll happily comply. Really disgusting way to handle AI.
The most fucked up thing is that Grok does seem to have guardrails — except they're geared towards preventing it from being "too woke"
