Both seems like the way to go, and let's be consistent. There is the same discussion for Wellington with a similar idea but slightly different format
I'd be keen on that, they're both official names so it'd be fitting to have both on here!
I’d vote for this one too!
I like this idea. There are several places I haven't quite learnt in Te Reo and I get the confused but if this format becomes more common it'll be easier to learn.
Edit: I have no skin in the game so if y’all reach a consensus, or want to progress this further reach out to a friendly admin
Don't worry, I'm watching. Thanks for doing this!
Do we have opinions on punctuation?
- Te Wai Pounamu (South Island)
- Te Wai Pounamu | South Island
- Te Wai Pounamu / South Island
(that last one I'm adding myself, inspired by Aoraki / Mt Cook)
IMO the last one is the most grammatically / syntactically correct.
If the third one is a format already in use them it makes sense to go with it. I think the South Island gets a bit lost/overlooked in brackets.
3rd one for consistency!
Done!
I have no strong opinion, but I like the / since even just searching South Island comes up with that!
Sounds like a great idea!
Doesn’t bother me!
