To be fair, "avoid change at all costs!" Has been the Republican motto for a long time now. It's right up there with, "ignore reality."
At this point, I actually think the overton window has shifted so far that "avoid changes at all costs" sounds more like the Democrats. "Burn our institutions to the ground. De-orbit the satellites. Rip up all trade agreements. Sell pardons. Shill products from the oval office. Retry supreme court decisions", those all are big changes.
Dems... Just keep trying the same exact same bland neoliberal candidates and viciously stonewalling anyone suggesting any meaningful change.
Conservatism has never been about avoiding change. It has always been about preserving the unearned privilege of the ruling class. In England, the enclosures of the commons and the Highlands clearances were both radical changes, starting almost two centuries ago.
But initially, conservatism was protectionist, since the rich mainly got their money through land ownership, But after the Industrial Revolution, when many fortunes were made from manufacturing and trade, conservativism gradually shifted to supporting free trade (originally a Liberal idea).
It's not a consistent ideology, really. It's just "whatever it takes to serve the rich."
I will hopefully suggest all of you look into Run For Something. They have won quote a lot of electionswith young progressive candidates trained up. But they could also use more help.
Research them/volunteer for them. They take no AIPAC, and members don't either. Read their Substack: Feel Good RFS Updates for their accomplishments across the country from every month.
If we all want better we must continue to do together
I mean that’s exactly what it means to be a conservative. Not being open to change.

Cluster B is gonna Cluster B. The hallmark of these personality disorders is an alternative reality. Secondary to that aspect is the profound level of gaslighting in response to denying that alternative reality.
I expect nothing less from Trump. The non cluster B people around him playing that game are far worse. They actually know better.
Ok, so please tell them what the “positive” policies are? I really dont think there is one. Every single one had a negative affect on the working class. So I guess by positive, they mean for the ownership class?
Gee, I wonder why they cancelled the jobs data, too.
At least they are admitting that they have lost.
And how are they admitting that? It looks more like they're flat-out denying it.
Talk MORE about him putting Bubba's Penis in HIS Mouth!
What exactly are his accomplishments
They’re totally correct unless I missed something saying rich pedophiles are having an affordability problem
Their pants are on fire and they are holding the match and still can’t figure out what’s going on.
All of their heads are so far up trumps ass to see anything
