Palm Beach International Airport, which Donald Trump flies in and out of when heading to his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida, is likely set to be renamed in his honor.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill Monday, renaming it the President Donald J. Trump International Airport.

According to a release from DeSantis' office, the governor signed a bill from the legislature related to "Commercial Service Airports." That bill, which passed the Florida House and Senate in February, includes the provision that "'Palm Beach International Airport,' shall be renamed as the 'President Donald J. Trump International Airport,' subject to approval of the Federal Aviation Administration" and, per the bill, rights agreements.

Do you know that scene from dictator where the doctor says to the patient your results came back "Alaa Din". Feels closer to reality now.

Why they bother with such small feats? Why don't pass the bill that renames everything and everyone to Trump? Also vocabulary, we could replace all words with Trump, Trump Trump Trump. Trump?

Everyone in the U.S.A will be renamed as Donald J. Trump junior!

I’m glad we are wasting time, money and resources on such important productive things.

The older you get, the harder it is to get off. DeSantis has his work cut out for him. Keep sucking Ronnie!

[-] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 18 points 6 months ago

Has anyone asked DeSantis yet if Trump's asshole tastes like Putin's dick.

I hope it all gets undone with righteous rage when this shit is all over.

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

Brave to do this when his poll numbers have hit record low.

TIA would be oddly appropriate, both for the region and the guy. I imagine it feels like having a mini stroke trying to make this seem like a good idea.

Although maybe it's best to just lean into the trend for a little more truth in advertising. If congress decides to sanction his habit of hoarding sensitive government documents, they could call it the "Federal Record Authorized Use for Donald" before he gets his grubby little mitts on them again. "Social Heroic Americans for Trump" would be a good rename for Truth Social.

With any luck, he'll get on camera one day and say:

"These nasty Democrats are at it again. They're saying I can't use classified documents for my business. I told them, "Yes, I can. I can use FRAUD. Look it up in the lawbook. It's there. It's a law "

Also, I had a big, beautiful--it was very lovely--airport named after me and they changed it back. They changed it back to ugly, old "Palm Beach," which no one has ever heard of. Just a terrible experience. I had a TIA flight, but when I landed, they said, "Welcome to Palm Beach." I was so confused. I didn't know where I was. I could hardly speak. The whole thing was a horrible, dizzy, blur.

I was so mad that I posted on my feed right then and there. I SHAT myself, as the kids are saying. Now everyone can see it. It's there. They know it's the Democrats' fault. Sleepy Joe made me do it. Awful guy.

In conclusion, this whole witch-hunt is a nothing burger. My day was just FRAUD, TIA, SHAT myself. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

Too on-topic, not enough self-aggrandizing tangents.

I predict June 20, 2026 for the unveiling of the "Trump/Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts".

Someday it will be illegal to name anything after Trump.

[-] Angrydeuce@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

I look forward to inevitably watching the gravy seals being forced to climb their fat asses up ladders to chisel his name off of buildings from coast to coast.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 6 months ago

Just put out the word, and citizen volunteers will have it handled all over the country by end of business on Inauguration Day.
