There are some posts about it on ckiwi on reddit. I'm told Lemmy was founded and created by people with strong political opinions, Marxism, Leninism and communism. Glad to support it.

What will and will not be removed here? Reddit was useless for meaningful discussion. You say some opinions and you're gone.

Hi there, welcome!

Lemmy is a collection of servers. We are running the Lemmy software, but there are hundreds of other sites doing the same.

Unfortunately, this is not a site where you can say what you like and nothing gets removed. There's a big list of instances here, but it sounds like you might be after the https://lemmygrad.ml/ community.

That is the main Marxism-Leninism community, and yes I believe it's one of the communities run by the original developers of Lemmy. Many of the large Lemmy instances require you to apply for an account, but it sounds like you might be a good fit so I'd encourage you to sign up there.

I had a quick look at the Lemmygrad sub, those guys are off the deep end. I'd be a bit insulted to be told I'm a good fit there myself.

OP specifically expressed support for Marxism-Leninism. That's exactly what lemmygrad.ml is all about.

I'm glad you think it's off the deep end, you're probably a better fit for our community.

They're still making and developing this software we're using I believe, so probably best to come to terms with that. Different opinions are not "off the deep end". They have strong opinions on CCP and Russia, which not everyone will agree with.

I mean I think we'd prefer if while in Te Upoko o te Ika a Maui you stuck to chatting about Wellington related things - but there's presumably some life type stuff which if you're a person associated with Wellington would qualify also?

I mean topics like the Posie Parker visit to Wellington and the Parliament protests in Wellington that were impossible to discuss on Reddit without being shouted down.

I dunno. I feel like there was quite a lot of discussion of those events, for quite a long period of time. If you're wanting to support the anti-vaxers and hate-peddlers, on the other hand, yeah, I don't think we're going to be friends.

I would have left if it had kept up for any longer. Attracting all sorts from elsewhere to express overt transphobia. Not the friendly community vibe I was there for.

Discussion was only allowed from one side.

Yup. Decent people have no interest in debating whether or not people have the right to exist.

I'm happy to chat about that sort of stuff, as long as it's in good faith.
