I've always been interested in learning other languages so it'd be cool to get some recommendations. So far, I've come to like Me!Me!Me! by Teddyloid, the instrumental for Headbanger by Baby Metal, J'en Ai Marre by Alizee, and Yuve Yuve Yu by The HU.

My favs change constantly so I'll list a lot of songs. I'll also include lyrics with EN translations because it's useful for language learners.

Note: I'm listing the versions I like the best, not necessarily the originals. And in two cases (Strani Amori and Lilium) they are not sung by native speakers.

Oye como va by the great Carlos Santana

But lately i’ve also been listening to Bad Bunny’s album DTMF. Lo que le pasó a Hawaii is so fucking good.

Outside of spanish i really like all of The Hu’s songs but Yuve Yuve Yu and Sugaan Essanna are definitely their best imo.

Also can’t forget the classic Edith Pief song Non, je ne regrette rien if i’m in the mood for a classic.

Since you're writing in English I assume you mean other as non English ones. Look up Gå & Fiska with Gyllene Tider. (It's Swedish). Great song

English also welcome, as long as you're coming at it for language learning.

Good question from @Monster96@lemmy.world that came up on AskLemmy, thought it was appropriate to share here.

In the scope of language learning, as I'd sing along, usually the ones with great focus on voice, intonation and breath control and that aren't drowned by instruments, like sea shanties, acapellas, and some powermetal songs like Týr's Sinklars Vísa.

Oh, right, maybe also worth crossposting the question to !LetsTalkMusic@lemmy.zip?

I don't really know if I can say it's my favorite, but I've really been digging this Viking berserker war chant I heard recently.

currently, I've been listening to "L'amour Toujours" by Clara Luciani, and, by extention, her album "Cœur".

I find the best way for me (I'm trying to maintain what knowledge of french I have, and to try and discover more music), is to listen to radio. 'M Radio' is one that is all-french that i listen to.

Ado is my favorite singer, nothing can ever come close to her, every song is 10/10 and it gets better with every listen.

Here is one: https://youtu.be/1FliVTcX8bQ

Her music is in Japanese.

My favourite song that's in another language would be Prituri Se Planinata by Stellamara.

Fei by Irfan is a close second.

奇跡の海 (Kiseki no Umi). It's my favorite song in any language.

На заре (1987) - Альянс
I find it to be profoundly melancholic... (Also, the vocal range of Igor here is insane)

Tourner dans le vide (2014) - Indila
Translated subtitles included from French

PotatOS Lament (2011) - Portal 2 OST
I like Latin, albeit this being pseudo-Latin with a mix of Italian, for the fact that so much can be said with so little.
