another entitled octogenarian thinks he deserves a say in the future that he doesn't have. ignored

For real. I'm getting pretty sick of thinly veiled skeletons telling the rest of us we are so stupid and lazy.

[–] el_twitto@lemmy.zip 47 points 2 weeks ago

Fuck him and fuck Trump, too. It's time to kick them all.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 47 points 2 weeks ago

Every article about James Carville should mention his role as a paid Palantir advisor.

[–] BigMacHole@thelemmy.club 42 points 2 weeks ago

Vote Blue no MATTER who! UNLESS I personally DONT like Them!

-James Carville!

Democratic strategist

And what the fuck have you ever done for us? Lost every election you needed to win?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The Dems like to have unsuccessful strategists fail upward. See also: Donna Brazile. If that had been my job, I'd have been fired four times for being that incompetent.

[–] SGGeorwell@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Donna Brazile also passed debate questions to Hillary like it was middle school. Dishonorable cretins across the board.

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Article says he worked for Bill Clinton, so on that point no.
Many other things about him are off, but not that one.

[–] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 2 weeks ago

That was winning an election he should have lost, considering the nightmare that Clinton style neoliberalism has been.

‘Guy who helped run a successful presidential election 30+ years ago’ becomes less impressive when you add in that since then he helped lose the 2004 election and was on the ugly primary campaign Clinton unsuccessfully ran against Obama in 2008. I dunno if he was responsible for the racist shit or not, I just don’t value his judgement even if he wasn’t.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 36 points 2 weeks ago

The only reason this guy is famous is that Perot handed the presidential election to Clinton. He and the neoliberals then proceeded to chase "centrist" voters for decades to recapture that magic and thereby lose the SCOTUS for who knows how long.

This dummy is not half as smart as he thinks he is and has a pathetic track record for someone who only cares about winning.

Carville is one of the architects of Clintonian triangulation, which directly led to the corporation-dominated, do-nothing Democratic Party so miserably exemplified by the DNC.

And speaking of Hillary Clinton: if she hadn't been the boss's wife, she would never have had a political career. She's a bloodless neoliberal technocrat who's too charmless, smug and entitled to actually engage with voters, and the "it's my turn" message didn't resonate with anyone.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

Literally. Carville looked at the electoral success of Reagan and said to himself "I need to find the DNC its own Reagan". And he did, in the form of Bill fucking Clinton.

Carville's strategy had always been little more than an attempt to drag the Democratic party to the right for the benefit of no one.

I think more and more people a tired of the lack of real change for the better with either party in the US, they have started asking themselves if there is a better way, and are rushing toward any candidate on the actual left.

With the rise of youtube and vloggers moving from the US to other countries, talking about the realities of living outside of the US and reaction channels spreading the videos further, the knowledge of what Americans have been missing out on has grown.

I am not American, but when watching videos of Americans talking about their experiences abroad, I get the feeling that the US has stagnated and even regressed in taking care of it's citizens in the last few decades, and people can't accept it any longer.

Zohran Mamdani is the best thing I have seen in US politics for a very long time, a politician who shows that socialist policies aren't scary.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 2 weeks ago

Go away old man

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

Carville is a carnival barker hired by the DNC to perform. He's literally a clown for hire.

[–] Lasherz12@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

So fucking stupid, despite out predicting him at every single turn. Never understand why double down is the only option these "no I'm not human" visitors have in their dialog tree.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Third Way senile alcoholic lashes out irrationally.

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 10 points 2 weeks ago

I entered the article fully ready to learn something, but quickly realized this guy doesn't know what is going on around him

Louisiana, famous for producing Democrats right? Why does anyone listen to this dipshit?

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Famously the most politically corrupt state in the nation!

[–] breakfastmtn@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 weeks ago

James Carville Slams Democratic Socialists... Cajun Style

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

I was not aware he was this stupid. ☹️

[–] TomMasz@piefed.social 5 points 2 weeks ago

Who listens to this guy anymore?

[–] hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Dem Socialists? Oh, you mean actual progressives who are doing their job to represent the interests of the people, instead of the ultra-powerful and wealthy?

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca -1 points 2 weeks ago

I like his old man rants, but I can't take him too seriously.
