Busy doing things I wanna do; not slaving away so you can have another billion dollars, you fucking parasite.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Go fuck yourself, parasite.

I’d enjoy work, too, if I were a CEO.

And a sociopath.

[–] Skyrmir@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

That's when you stop an interview and ask them if they can hear the rest of the planet screaming 'Fuck you!' to that comment.

Sam Altman understands nothing about being human.

Fucking wanker.

[–] thanksforreading@lemmy.ml 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

His kind have studied humans for millennia. They know so much about being human by now!

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 1 hour ago

But why all the anal probing?

There is no secret that humans enjoy being busy, the debate now mostly comes down to the question "with what".

If I had the money and time, I'd love being busy going on long road trips with my cameras taking photos and experiencing cool places.

My summer vacation starts next week, I will be busy going down to Germany and riding an airship, then taking scenic trains in the Swiss alps, and later driving through Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria and northern Italy, and then heading home to finish my three weeks off in Linköping attending the 100 year anniversary of the Swedish Air Force.

I'll be busy alright, but I'll have far more fun than at work.

So

That sounds like an amazing vacation, I am jealous. Have fun.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 hours ago

I will bring my camera and take plenty of photos.

I am on Pixelfed if you are interested:

I just need to revive it....

Fruits of ones labor is a joyous thing. Toiling over a keyboard for the enrichment of oligarchs is not.

"But somehow we never get the promise of the four-hour workweek at mass scale in society"

You gonna Poe Dameron your way through that thought process, or you wanna do some serious ethical inquiry

Hint: it was capitalists all along, stealing productivity and vitality

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 7 points 6 hours ago

"Somehow." Everyone who's not a billionaire knows exactly how.

[–] BoosBeau@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

And he secretly enjoys choking on robot hog from dawn till dusk, so here we are.

I CAN BE BUSY AT HOME

[–] Arghblarg@lemmy.ca 8 points 5 hours ago

Wow. fuck that guy.

So we can just add that to the list of all the things AI was supposed to do but doesn't?

Because thats getting to be a really long list.

[–] UpperBroccoli@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Oh you old naysayer!

Well, here's a list things LLMs really do accomplish, and I want to see you debunk that!

  • Waste shittons of water
  • Waste Terrawatts of energy
  • Rob its regular users of cognitive skills at an unprecedented rate
  • Cost shittons of money
  • Cause severe shortage in electronic components needed for useful applications
  • Make billionairs even richer
  • Permanently destroy natural habitats that are bulldozed to build data centers
  • Make people living near datacenters sick from the noise
  • Cause electricity and water prices to spike

Convinced of the benefits of this superb technolgy yet, or do you need more convincing?

[–] bitteroldcoot@piefed.social 3 points 5 hours ago

Actually I was focused on all the positive things they promised, but couldn’t deliver. Rather than all the horrific negative side effects they pretend don’t exist.

Those are two different lists.

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Make billionairs even richer

That one can be debunked! Apparently these fucks are playing accounting tricks and actually combined the major AI companies have over 1 Trillion in debt!

So you could actually replace that fun fact with: will destroy the US economy when they collapse!

[–] UpperBroccoli@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Ah, but corporate debt does not equal personal debt. If the guys running the show are not stupid, they will have made billions from this before the respective corporations go kaputt.

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

True enough. And they know the old saying "$100 of debt to the bank is a me problem. $1,000,000,000 of debt to the bank is a you problem." So they'll almost certainly get bailed out...

[–] Abyssian@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Fuck that guy. Doing stuff can be fun, but the minute you have to do said stuff it turns to shit.

If a friend invites you to a spontaneous bbq drunken pool party that can be a ton of fun. But if it's scheduled in advance then odds are when the day comes you'll sort of wish you could just stay home because now it feels like something you're obligated to do.

Even porn stars don't want to wake up and get ready for work, and their job is literally fucking porn stars.

workweek

work week

Coincidentally, a little break in the middle there makes it sane too.
