5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
So, by the transitive property, if the footage is not released then it assumed to be not in the agency's best interests?
Also every camera malfunction they try to claim, or footage gone missing, it's all just an admission of wrong doing.
and what little might get released is carefully crafted to support their own (and most likely, totally bullshit) narrative. the rest of the clip, the rest of the videos from all the other cameras.. they don't exist.
So now, as a potential grand juror, I can now be certain that anything a prosecutor says is absolutely not true unless they produce the video evidence unequivocally proving it so.

Logically, I don't think so. They said basically that if something's released, it's in their best interests. So, Released(x) --> BestInterestsOfICE(x).
You can't derive !Released(x) --> !BestInterestsOfICE(x) from that statement.
Yes you can actually. You'd be correct if they were supposed to release everything, like a daily upload to public channels of every single bodycam in the organization, but that is not and never has been a thing.
You can derive that under the conditions that exist every time releasing footage becomes a consideration. Yes that is not how general logic works but general logic is not universally applicable.
And just why is this left up to them?
Because all anyone else has to stop them is words and stuff. The are no actual consequences, so they can make their own rules. They also have the support of the President who’s been leading by example himself.

Generational strife is just there to distract from the class war being waged against us.
So if they don’t release it we can assume they were in the wrong. Now we need the media to start reporting like that’s the case. “ICE refused to release the video because it will make them look bad or show guilt, per their own statements”. Then the courts need to start ruling that way as admission of guilt when video and other evidence is withheld or destroyed.
Every agency of the government should have only one interest, the well being of the people.

Of course they won't. The number one principle about ICE is that it can not and will not be held accountable to anyone but itself and the President.

All they've done is state plainly what has always been every law enforcement agency's unofficial policy regarding body-cam footage and made it official. ICE is what the police want to be but can't be seen openly as, a fascist paramilitary occupying force. The only reason police keep up the appearance of transparency and accountability is because mass movements and the threat of them has forced them to. ICE is as yet unburdened by that baggage, though they got a taste of it after the surge in Minneapolis and they briefly had to pretend to change by firing Kristi Noem.

I feel like there was legislation passed federally after BLM that stated departments had to release body cam footage publicly if requested? I know atleast for police officers.
Does that not apply for ICE?
Civic duty, not just for Americans, but for everyone is that if they see an interaction happening with any sort of law enforcement, stop...turn on your phone's video camera, and record it. The more citizens record every...single....interaction with authority, the harder it is for them to keep the story hidden.
This is why education matters. All of those losers in school with Ds and Fs and no friends spent years in economically and socially hopeless, and were recruited by ICE and told they can be important, powerful people.
well then they'll keep losing over and over in court and end up paying massive penalties. If their goal is to make dissidents rich winning easy court cases, and set precedents they dont like, I guess have at it. I look forward to my turn beating their dumb arses in court. Maybe getting rich off ICE misconduct can be the new American Dream.

I see a whole lot of black and brown people in ICE in videos. If things get bad enough, they will probably be purged, I suppose, but that probably comes last. Right now racist douchebags like Stephen Miller need useful idiots to carry out the job...
