personally yes but I feel like we'd probably be weird about people who want to eat it like we are with breast milk. like I'd imagine humans would reserve it for feeding infants like how birds do with their regurgitated food.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuchikamizake

Kuchikamizake (口噛み酒; mouth-chewed sake) or kuchikami no sake (口噛みの酒) is a type of sake produced by a process involving human saliva as a fermentation starter.

ohh this is the thing they did in the Your Name anime

[-] Southsamurai@reddthat.com 19 points 1 month ago

That's a misleading description of what bees do.

That being said, if we could actually make honey that way, id be making my own and be happy with it

[-] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

Would you eat cheese if it were made from human milk?

[-] AskewLord@piefed.social 4 points 1 month ago

breast milk flavored ice cream was a thing, and is still available.

sadly human milk products are illegal for sale.

[-] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I wouldn't say sadly. Alowing human milk products to be sold would be risking a lot of infectious diseases to be spread.

[-] Nollij@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 month ago

The human rights violations are pretty staggering, too.

[-] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

There wouldn't have to be violations. I wasn't thinking about industrial scale.

[-] Nollij@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 month ago

The closest analogue we normally have is a wet nurse, and most people don't like that idea. How would you feel if your mother/sister/daughter was one? Then make it worse, because there's profit to be had by bottling it instead of just feeding someone else's child. You don't need to scale at all before it becomes a problem.

[-] LostCarcosan@lemmy.today 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

If my mother/sister/daughter was a wet nurse, I'd have zero problems with it if they did it by their own choice. Same as if they were able to bottle and sell their own breastmilk for a couple extra bucks, kinda like how people are able to donate blood or plasma or semen for a little money sometimes.

Provided it's not being abused and they are not enslaved or abused into doing it, I don't see a problem with it

Edit: also that the milk went through a proper pasteurization process to ensure safety to anyone who was buying it

[-] AskewLord@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

hucows are a fetish thing.

[-] ghen@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

And more slavery

[-] AskewLord@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

animal milk isn't allowed to be sold raw either. it has to be pasteurized or ultra pasteurized.

[-] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Right, but pasturized doesn't mean 100% sterile. Thats ok, because diseases don't spread as much across different species. Most cow diseases don't affect humans. But with milk produced by the same animal that consumes it that's a different case.

[-] Noodle07@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

I love eating girls out, is it really worse ?

[-] Venator 10 points 1 month ago

If I was a bee I would.

[-] Zomg@piefed.world 8 points 1 month ago

That's someone's fetish for sure ..

[-] AskewLord@piefed.social 4 points 1 month ago

is beeplay like petplay for polycules?

[-] DeathsEmbrace@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

This is someone who understands

[-] socsa@piefed.social 7 points 1 month ago

Would it be "delicious?"

[-] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 6 points 1 month ago

I'll be honest, it likely depends on the social connotations of doing so. It feels on the same level of would I drink human milk and could I tell which milk was made from a set of three friends.

[-] Melobol@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Don't look up how traditional honey-mead is made...

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Depends on whether or not it tasted as good as honey. Even honey itself can taste wildly different, depending on what pollen was gathered by the bees to make it. Clover honey is the most common I see, but blackberry honey tastes even better IMO.

[-] CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

If it was delicious and sanitary I don’t see why not

[-] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Probably not because that sounds gross

[-] Grabthar@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I can't stand honey. It smells like when people sneeze, so I have never wanted to even taste it. So I guess bee phlegm and human phlegm smell the same to me?

[-] AskewLord@piefed.social 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

you can smell sneezes? or taste them?

wild.

I've had my dog sneeze in my mouth, but it didn't have a flavor or a smell.

[-] Grabthar@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

The smell comes from a person's saliva which often gets spewed into the air after a sneeze. The droplets hang in the air a long time. Some peoples' sneezes have a sickly sweet odour that smells the same as honey to me. Other sneezes don't smell like much of anything to me though. I don't know if I'm smelling an infection byproduct, a food, or maybe a lack of hydration causing their saliva to have a strong smell, but it always smells the same to me. As for taste? I think I'd rather not explore that. I imagine it might taste like it smells, so like honey.

[-] AskewLord@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

wild stuff.

[-] MutantTailThing@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Well I already find honey disgusting so that’s a hard no for me.

[-] Malyca@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah why not.
