And the teacher says no energy drinks in the math test because you won't always have one on hand in real life.

Little did they know - I never leave home without one

[-] otter@lemmy.ca 31 points 1 month ago

So this is why we're not allowed any drinks that aren't in a clear water bottle during exams

The secret was remove the label, write answers on inside of the label and carefully reglue back in place

Amature hour. Back in the 00s I had cheating down to a science. Or art even. Back then nobody was carrying water bottles and we only had brick phones. The only thing You could have on Your desk was paper and a pen. But that didn't stop me from having a book worth of knowledge hidden in plain sight.

Nice try, professor.

At some point in my life I want to write a long article about how I optimised every aspect of making a cheat sheet. But the main thing is that You can make it on clear adhesive tape and stick it on a Bic Orange pen. I had 6 of these pens on me, one in hand and 5 tucked under my watch strap. All numbered and a table of content placed on the face of the watch.

That is so clever and enterprising. Though it does seem like a lot of work, and you still risk being caught.

My cheating method was foolproof and completely undetectable. See, in the days leading up to the exam, I would look up the answers in the textbook the teacher foolishly provided us at the beginning of the semester. If the answers weren’t there, they’d be in the secret notes I had taken while the teacher was yapping in class days before, clueless they were basically telling us everything that would be on the exam later lol. All I had to do was read those notes the night before, then I could walk in empty-handed and take the exam with no one the wiser that I already knew all the answers!

Jesus Christ bro! Teachers can just search for this now and find it!

[-] Vathsade@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

And then write it on some pens!

[-] binarytobis@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I bet after those high-effort cheat sheets you memorized the materials anyway haha.

I used to put notes into my TI-83. It was hard enough to convert the formulas into a calculator-friendly format that I usually memorized it and didn’t need to check them any more.

[-] hOrni@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

No, that would miss the point. I wrote the text together with a couple of friends. A few chapters each. I read 80 percent of the cheat sheet until writing the exam.

Can you LaTeX it?

[-] Aedis@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Finest font size your inkjet could muster, small piece of paper glued on with Elmer's glue onto your fancy pencil with decals on it.

[-] hOrni@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Too obvious. That's black on white. Like every print. A teacher would spot that from the other end of the classroom. And decals? That just limits Your usable space. How much text can You fit that way? And how many "fancy pencils" did You have? Fancy things don't come a dime a dozen.

[-] Aedis@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I had a bunch of them, pencils with patterns of all sorts. The thing was using a pencil that was white on the outside with some noise and then the glue would give it laminated effect which makes it hard to spot that there's anything on it from afar.

Back in hs in the 00s my math teacher had a rule that you could use any program on your calculator if you wrote it yourself. She checked it by giving you a unique code and in the program it had to respond with your name.

I wrote a program each week to basically do the test. But I also wrote a wrapper which modified each program for any given code and name. It connected to the calculator, modified the program, copied program to calculator. I sold access to the program for 5 dollars per week.

500ml is the standard in Europe. This looks like a bigger version 550 or a pint. Held by a small hand.

[-] rockSlayer@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago

That explains it. Here in the US there are a few standard sizes. I'm currently drinking a small 355ml, the usual size is 473ml, and the much less common big size is 710ml

Saw these while visiting Düsseldorf. Bought two cans because I thought they looked so cool (one for Physics, the other for Chemistry).

[-] ddplf@piefed.social 12 points 1 month ago

These schemas are for highschool-level maths, so for 14-19yos.

These fucking capitalist vermin sure know who's buying their poison.

[-] Leviathan@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Know what? That's a cool-ass can design, even if it really only covers a couple of modules of highschool math.

This is all like super elementary stuff.

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

It still comes in handy for advanced stuff! I used a can like this to cheat on my bridge stress analysis certification, and I've made a ton of money rubber-stamping bridges since then. And now with AI it's easier than ever!

I too, am very smart.
