Trump has never authored a single thing beyond tweet length in his life.

While now unable to secure a deal with a neighbouring peaceful nation who is the living embodiment of a cartoon beaver offering to share their six-pack, Trump still insists that his negotiation skills are unparalleled.

Hilarious, I love it. LOL

He doesn't want a deal. Never did. He wasted Canada's time on purpose. He's starting a war.

You’re acting like this guy is capable of planning more than 15 minutes ahead. He can’t, that’s all his working memory can hold these days.

[–] johncandy1812@lemmy.ca 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

It's silly to think these are the acts of just one man. He holds a grudge too, and he's riled up the masses who, immediately, seem pretty onboard against Canada.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I can assure you the vast majority of people in the USA don’t want a war with Canada. Any voices you are seeing stating otherwise are massively amplified by oligarchs and don’t represent reality on the ground.

[–] johncandy1812@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 hours ago

That may be but we're still under attack from this administration, and the people who do support it.

Really though?

Trump just wakes up every day and does whatever thing he hopes will distract everyone from hi, being a pedo rapist and his ongoing harvesting of the wealth of the American people.

I don't think there's an actual plan to start a war. Surely that would be a huge self-own?

Trump probably doesn't have a plan for Canada, but I bet Miller does.

Epsteeeiiiiin!

[–] bad1080@piefed.social 4 points 17 hours ago

there are concepts of a plan

[–] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 6 points 1 day ago

Seems he wants to bully them into submission first.

[–] WhoIzDisIz@lemmy.today 25 points 1 day ago (4 children)

It was ghost-written for him. Some guy followed him around for a long time (18 months, I think?).

[–] im_fine_sandy@nord.pub 10 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

I'm surprised there was that much interaction with him.

edit:

someone linked the wikipedia page, and someone else quoted this:

Trump has cited it as one of his proudest accomplishments and his second-favorite book (after the Bible).[5][6] Schwartz called ghost-writing the book his "greatest regret in life, without question," and both he and the book's publisher, Howard Kaminsky, have said that Trump had played no role in its writing. Trump has given conflicting accounts on the question of authorship.

I found this article from 2016 that tells the whole story. It's worse that I ever thought.

Can also open in the web archive, it skips the paywall

[–] ragepaw@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 day ago

Just like everything else he didn't create, he slapped his name on it and thinks he's a genius.

[–] Hasherm0n@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

That same guy also called him out as being illiterate iirc.

[–] Delilah@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm confused, Tony Schwartz can't make a deal with Canada?

Satire sites post real news now?

[–] mcSlibinas@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Satire being killed burned and buried. Satire sites need to invent satire² or to convert to nonsatire sites?

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 0 points 20 hours ago

A dumb guy (notice the 'b'?) like trump could only rise in a country like america. They were made for each other. Now most citizens of all stripes are starting to realize "Hey, we need to make some serious changes here". lil' trumpie's end is nigh.
