I am a cynic on this specific event. I think this is all Rockstar's marketing ploy.

I don't follow any gaming-specific news, and haven't paid money for a game in over a decade. All my gaming needs are satisfied by the few FOSS games. And here I am learning of the GTA 6's approaching release. If this is marketing, Rockstar practically raped into my eyeballs the fact that their game is coming out soon. Fuck. I am not even their target audience and here I am.

I say all this is pure marketing by Rockstar. Just my gut feeling.

Honestly, I don't think so

The main reason being, that they genuinely don't need it. GTA6 is the most anticipated game this decade, probably only topped by half life 3

They already are in the news every time someone in that company farts, no leak necessary

I've looked so hard and couldn't find it just now, but it's possible I was thinking of Empress

One of them (I think) had a cult following and to "join" you'd have to act like a submissive male or something to that effect and acknowledge women or her being superior or something to that effect

I'm a little foggy on the details and can't find it right now but hopefully someone knows what I am talking about and can link an explainer lol

That's Empress that had the sub following. She was knows as being the only person who could crack Denuvo DRM until the hypervisor bypass was found

Or the only one insane enough to crack multiple titles. I think there were 1 or 2 other groups who did but it seems to be a headache inducing time sinks which could prove pointless after many updates. Please do correct me if I am wrong on that as I am pretty out of touch.

Nah, I think your right that others have cracked a game or two, but then said they would never do it again. And I think there was someone else who would crack Denuvo regularly, but it was for Fifa or some other sports game and that was all he did. Empress was just the only one to do it consistently, and it quickly turned into a shit show with her cult and her asking for donations/saying she would only crack certain games if people donated thousands of dollars

I don't know them, FitGirl she just repacks cracked games and compresses them. But personally what I like is that her repacks often have everything included. I often download from her (if she really is a her) or DODI repacks, just out of sheer convenience really haha. I'm not the simping type. If you're in the mood for a crazy simping story though look up the name "Grant Amato" theres whole documentaries in him. Its probably the craziest story about simping I ever seen and I like to call him "the king of simps". I doubt theres any bigger simp out there than Grant.

No idea. They started using some kind of really flawed captcha years ago that made it impossible for me to access my account. I emailed them to delete it since I wouldn't be able to play my purchased games anyway and they didn't comply. I wouldn't give them another cent even if they merged with Jesus Christ himself.

I would assume they have some sort of case open in the court system to try and punish the leaker, and are requesting a subpoena to get info from Microsoft as part of trying to track the leaker down.
