Though I thoroughly enjoy the mental image, it's pretty costly in terms of materials and labour to launch things into space and throw them into the sun - it might be more efficient (though admittedly less exciting) to throw them into the sea.
We could also consider options like "throw billionaires into an active volcano", which brings some of that "heat of the sun" excitement to the comfort of your local planet.
