The US is really starved of holidays. Meanwhile in India there’s like a holiday almost every week.
Its wild that Americans get 2 weeks annual leave which also doubles as their sick leave.
And you guys think this is just fine.
That’s entirely up to the employer. The US has no federal laws or requirements that guarantee paid time off or holiday leave. Most people have it but the amount varies wildly.
Who misses 40C summers anyway
Don't think it went above 32C here. Lots of rain tho, so good crops and no risk of the well running dry. First time I've wished for more heat during a summer in recent years honestly. Of course the heat we did have landed when my car's AC compressor blew up and it went away when I got it replaced so that was amazing. Luckily I didn't have a ton of places I needed to go to those weeks.
Now that summer's basically over, it's just a few months till I get 5 hours of sunshine a fucking week. I'm already pre-pissed-off at it. If I didn't have a kid, I'd move somewhere nicer and only come here in the summer to spend time with friends and family, but oh hey look, the absolutely absent mother of my child has equal parental rights so she can rightfully tell me to fuck off if I want to even go on a vacation with my offspring, let alone move somewhere.
Misses? Still going on here.

Our summer vacation is still 2 weeks away so we can make sure all kids are back in school lol
That would work where I live (everything being dead in september because all the families with kids did all their holiday shit in the summer already so enjoy vacancies everywhere), but I had a minor culture shock when I was visiting the US a few years ago and it was like late october or early november or something and we tried to get a hotel room at night in some small town because we had 300 miles left to drive to where we were actually going but at 11 PM kinda wanted to get some shut-eye first and the clerk was like "oh sorry, can't help you, it's still wedding season". Like apparently summer through autumn is just wedding season and hotels are fully-booked even in November??? And no, this wasn't like Florida or California that's warm all-year round, this was upstate NY.
