I’ll go first: Cyberpunk 2077. It still looks great and it still is buggy.

I already played it like five years ago, but bought it again for the Xbox and am having a blast. I play it differently than last time, more slowly and try not to rush but discover more of the coty and story. And I’m looking forward to Phantom Liberty!

Currently playing Travelers Rest with my Neighbor. Each on their own couch with a Teamspeak server between us as we shout orders at each other, hectically swipe tables or chill while going to the mine or preparing food or drinks.

Got our first chicken coop now so we will start expanding our menu, next is a barns so we can get milk

Been playing Downwell on phone to fill in gaps between work/commute recently. It's quite fun. I struggled a little bc it was much faster than a similar game like Tower Fortress, but now managed to get used to it somewhat.

Started a coop playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 with my girlfriend (she never played it before). Loving it, though the split screen implementation is a bit jank.

Also playing VHOLUME and Shadow Gambit, both great games

I've been going through a hard time, so the Postal series has been very cathartic lately.

BUT I've also had a lot of fun with Retro Rewind and Librarian Arcane Library.

The Finals after work with 3 other friends and then Heroes of the Storm at the end of the evening with 4 other friends. This is a daily engagement.

Since the last couple months I have been running both from Linux btw!

I've been on Pokopia all summer, really since it came our. Baby has been going through sleep regression this week, so I've only been playing this game from the F-droid app store...

Its called BIM! You're a silly little prince boy and you have to drop a bomb on the other silly prince boys in the yard. Simple mechanics, alpha stage, not too many powerups. But there's a barrel that you can wear so that you can get bombed once. I don't think it was the creators intent, but there's a short time after you lose your barrel where youre fully immune. It feels exploitive of the rules, but its really fun, because you can infinitely drop exploding bombs, allowing you to blitz your opponent by blasting your way through the board or even hunting them down and blowing them up.

I hope the creator embraces the exploit and introduces a foil/counter to it. Because its a blast!

I cancelled my Game Pass sub recently and just got home from a Universal trip, so I've been doing all kinds of side/collection quests in Hogwarts Legacy. My save file was 3 years old which doesn't even seem possible. Eventually, I suppose I'll have to finish the main story.

Starfield. I’m a little surprised it’s not more popular. Blows Skyrim away imo as a real time killer.

Super Mario World and Secret of Mana on my RetroPie

FTL: Faster Than Light is consuming any moment of free time I have right now, this time with the Multiverse mod. The base game is already quite challenging, the Captain's Edition Mod I was playing the last time around is several times harder, but this is once again even more demanding on the player.

The amount of variety and quality of the ships is immense, with some of them being so different from what is the norm in the game that they almost feel like games of their own. Unlocking a new ship is an occasion and you never know what you're getting into. This inevitably leads to the game being unbalanced though, but I feel like this is intentional; certain ships are definitely designed to be especially challenging. Similarly, there are new items that can totally transform existing ships.

Even after dozens and dozens of hours with this mod, it's constantly throwing new curveballs at me in the form of radically new encounters and insane story ideas. While the writing is often more than overly wordy and self-indulgent (it takes one to know one), there is a wicked sense of humor underneath, even if it can be crude at times. It could do with an editor or ten reigning in the writers though.

Still, I can't recommend it enough to veteran players of the game looking for an actual challenge after having learned to blaze through the base game and less difficult mods - although chances are, if you're a veteran FTL captain, you've likely already played this mod anyway. I'm just late to the party.
