Can't wait to pirate this because fuck paramount
Honestly. "Let's make a big budget animated movie, but not release it in theaters!"
Fuck 'em, they don't deserve the property.
Wasn't it because the movie got leaked?
That was the argument why they leaked it, because it wasn't going to be released in theater.
Hoping they get to do what they want rather than getting jerked around by publishers
Idk not going to hold my breath as this is Paramount we're dealing with, they don't seem to give two shits of the Avatar universe. Ergo, not releasing The Legend of Aang movie in theaters which was quite idiotic.
the art style is 10/10

Oh, that's...an...interesting look for Avatar.
Flash animated Avatar
Looks slopified
It reminds me of something but i can't place it. Was there a She-Ra with this style?
I do love that they just went "fine, you don't like Korra? Fine, everyone hates Korra now. Deal with it"
I'm very happy that it seems to be the spirit portal thing biting her in the ass. Sure, Korra, let's let the aliens invade again. They totally won't take over all our land THIS time. We definitely won't be forced to take refuge in some way that might be the title of the show now.
Seriously why the hell are the spirits just assholes by nature now?
pls put this behind a spoiler tag btw
It's literally paraphrasing the official description of the show. So no.
~~i personally am glad that they abandoned the Korra-animation style. Yeah, lots of people didn't like the legend of Korra as much as the legend of Aang, largely because of the (IMO) unnecessarily complex animations.~~
edit: just random ramblings, not actually my opinion. sigh
I figured most didn't enjoy it because of the rushed and seemingly unconnected storylines (each season feels disconnected for the most part) - I dont really remember having any negative to say about the animation or art style
oh yeah sry i actually agree with you, idk what i had yesterday, had some random ramblings about art style for some reason, nvm that.
The Avatar reappears as a child not at terms with their status, meats a young adult companion, and goes on an adventure while being pursued by a major military...
I guess it has been long enough that it is time to replay the original formula.
In unrelated news, I choose to believe that this was the plan all the way back in season 1, when Iron "lost" his white lotus piece.
yeah i thought the same thing. "wait a minute, this sounds familiar, omg ahaha it's the same theme all over again". xD
but it could play out entirely differently this time, we'll see

Avatars are supposed to be the good guys, why are the minions cheering for them?
Checkmate, liberals
I'm old enough to be the villian now lol
Oh no, not the minion react gifs. I never thought I'd see this in 196
There are so many layers of irony in this sub that sincerity is imperceptible
I still have a high hope the story of why the world is in chaos is as follows:
The human and spirit worlds are now connected again, as Korra left them by the end of her story on screen. Therefore the humand and spirits have to learn to get along with each other. Because of this, there is more tension between them as a whole, similar to what we see with the spirit vines covering swaths of New Republic City in season 3. And Korra basically spends her time, alongside other airbenders, trying to maintain peace between the two groups. But either humans or spirits end up taking advantage over the other group in some way that pushes them to the limits, causing a war between the two groups. Korra tries to stop them and restore balance, only for both sides to treat her as a traitor. Maybe at one point she snaps and goes into avayar state, feeling severely overwhelmed. And while in that state she accidentally ends up destroying their world as they know it. Thus, we get the wasteland like world lf Seven Havens while also having Korra not being written as an evil avatar, but instead just misunderstood and pushed to her limits.
This is what I absolutely hope for and not some story about how Korra suddenly became evil and destroyed the world or pulled an Aang and disappeared for a long time.
ohgod they went full anime with the style. yikes
Looks more like a Gobelins style to me.
Has it ever not been?
wut? even korra wasn't particularly anime-y, most characters were immediately recognizable from the outline of their face.
That's on the character desginers regardless of animation style. Plenty of anime have immediately recognizable faces for the main cast. Plenty of non anime shows fail at it as well. It all depends on the quality of the artists and how much studios let the animators cook.

Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
