Canada is “selling” assets in the sense that we’re charging for access to resources that require large amounts of investment, research, and development. These aren’t all transactional, rather these can and should lead to deeper partnerships and long-term exchanges of technology.

The US-Israel-Iran conflict has no sign of ending. I suspect the Middle East will have to re-align behind Iran as the US seems to be experiencing institutional dementia. At this rate, the world will have to cope with the supply shocks from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for much longer than anyone would like.

Canada has the products the world needs to keep industry going. We can make these deals to fill the gap, and these deals will continue to keep Canada as a desirable place to live. We’re also a bulwark to basically the loss of Rule of Law to the United States.

These resources should be nationalized and owned by the public through a crown Corp. Instead of letting U.S. businesses snatch up everything and selling it back to us at a much higher price due to economic conflicts.

And these resources can potentially be used in conflicts like the Palestinian genocide.

At the very least, we should find better economic partners.

Carney is just Harper 2. Harper sold off Alberta oil rights to the Chinese, and when they abandoned the wells, the Ottawa leftists take up the tab.

LPC voters will be surprised long after it's done.

Selling the airports is scary. The 407 is said to be the most profitable company in Canada. Selling highway 407 created a constant profit pool that is now too expensive to return to the province. It's doubtful it ever reached its volume promises and this is wasting public resources. High charges keep many away. Will the airports become equally undersubscribed due to sweet spot profit pricing and unusable by everyone driving on the QEW?

With profits going to the Canada Pension plan. How awful.

High charges keep many away.

That's how traffic relief highways work. If it were cheap, it would be full of idiots commuting across Toronto every day and no better than the 401.

I love how the CPC continues to get non-conservatives to fight one another over purity.

CPC isn't doing anything here. Carney is a conservative. The Liberals have historically sided more with CPC than NDP.
