As another commenter here implied, there's nothing that doesn't run on someone's Linux environment. Probably even on their slow cooker.

I regret to inform you that Linux runs Genshin Impact just fine.

It is official; Netcraft now confirms: Linux is dying

One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered Linux community when IDC confirmed that Linux market share has dropped yet again, now down to less than a fraction of 1 percent of all servers. Coming close on the heels of a recent Netcraft survey which plainly states that Linux has lost more market share, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. Linux is collapsing in complete disarray, as fittingly exemplified by failing dead last in the recent Sys Admin comprehensive networking test.

You don't need to be a Kreskin to predict Linux' future. The hand writing is on the wall: Linux faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for Linux because Linux is dying. Things are looking very bad for Linux. As many of us are already aware, Linux continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood.

Time to switch to TempleOS I suppose.

Calm down, its just a VM nothing really mad about that tbh.

[-] Widdershins@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Every machine is virtual, Sherlock. With your detective skills you must really glow in the dark.

[-] Magnum@infosec.pub 4 points 1 day ago

Well, I'm Magnum P.I. what did you expect.

[-] klu9@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 hours ago

A little less deduction, a little more Ferrari!

[-] palordrolap@fedia.io 2 points 1 day ago

Semantics, semantics.

If you manage to run TempleOS on the bare metal, your CPU and fans will be stuck at 100% until you turn it off or your CPU overheats.

Run it in a VM and you won't have that problem.

You can argue that anything above Ring -3 is virtual, but "if I do this my CPU's going to die" is a pretty reasonable dividing line between "technically" and "actually".

I think you mean holy man

[-] DickFiasco@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

He is the Messiah.

[-] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 38 points 2 days ago

I regret to inform you that TempleOS runs your destiny just fine.

Why would I want to play any of those games that actively harm the gaming industry as a whole through their predatory and addictive designs and that foster the most toxic of communities?

Also, Genshin works via Proton or Lutris. So, image is wrong too lol.

https://nerdburglars.net/gameguides/play-genshin-impact-on-linux-a-complete-guide/

Destiny 2 wasn't as bad as the others imo, still very predatory with microtransactions though. But, Marathon is the "better" version according to their owners, right?

[-] DmMacniel@feddit.org 61 points 1 day ago

Genshin does run on Linux though?

[-] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago

Now I have to move to FreeBSD...

[-] Natanox@discuss.tchncs.de 19 points 1 day ago

Go to Haiku. Maximum incompatibility but still with a slither of daily usefulness.

[-] DastardlyJames@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I’m moving to Temple OS, it doesn’t have Internet, so there wouldn’t be a way to download Genshin Impact.

[-] CriticalMiss@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

ok but what if my ps5 runs Linux

[-] ryannathans@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago

Ps5 is based on FreeBSD, unless you've literally jailbroken it and replaced the OS with linux

[-] CriticalMiss@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago

yes, the latter

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 9 points 1 day ago

The latter has recently been made possible if you have a super old, unupdated PS5 that still has the launch firmware.

[-] godsammitdam@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

And the lead dev of PS5 linux just walked out cause of slop kiddies

Unfortunately, Epic store will soon be available on Linux soon too. Geforce Now already is :(

[-] anewfox@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

oh no, making linux usable for more people who stick with windows because their games don't run. that is so bad and definitely not what we want at all, apparently. linux bad now, because epic and nvidia exist.

are we fucking for real right now?

[-] markz@suppo.fi 9 points 1 day ago

I'm pretty sure that the comment, as well as OP's meme are jokes.

Huh I was pretty sure I played apex legends on Linux briefly, years ago.

[-] Luffy879@lemmy.ml 23 points 1 day ago

Yes, they changed the anti cheat on it and explicitly blocked Linux a few years ago

[-] maxprime@lemmy.ml 13 points 2 days ago

You can call me names but I am sad that I cannot play the new Skate game.
